About the Conklin All American Golden Walnut
Made with real walnut, the Conklin All American Golden Walnut fountain pen features the same body design writers have grown to love from the All American. This oversize limited edition fountain pen comes in either gunmetal or rose gold trims. Since the body and cap are made from walnut, no two pens are alike, each with their own distinct wood grain.
Each Conklin All American Golden Walnut fountain pen comes with a stainless steel JOWO nib and a cartridge converter filling system. Limited to 1898 pieces, the Golden Walnut is available in all the different nib sizes from extra fine to stub as well as the Conklin OmniFlex nib. Each Conklin All American Golden Walnut arrives in a Conklin gift box.

The build quality and the weight profile is impressive. The Gunmetal Walnut combination is a stunner. But, the nib dries out far too quickly and after every pause,one need to sweat to get the ink to flow, that's a serious dealbreaker.

Lot's of feedback on the nib and dries out easily. Wood finish is beautiful. I'm scared to try and smooth the nib because of the black coating so I have to live with the scratchiness.

Of the three different woods I've seen used by Conklin (the other two are ebony and mahogany), I think I like this one the best. I think the pen will benefit from a nice coat of wax and/or oil to give it a little sheen, though. This may be a bad idea, or it may be a good idea.

A gorgeous oversized wooden pen with some weight. Despite its size, the grip section is comfortable; the nib is smooth and wet. Unfortunately, the nib dries rather quickly. After 5 min. of rest, it's a hard start, after 10-15 min. I have to unscrew the barrel to access the converter and dispense the ink. Swapping out the nib would fix this issue.
