About the Visconti Medici Briarwood
Visconti's new Medici Briarwood Collection is a beautiful combination of the best from Visconti's past and enriching new design elements that point to a bright future. For example, the pen's new demonstrator central ring was made with the skeletonization technique and features the official emblem of Florence, the Lily.
The city's coat of arms, the Lily, represents beauty, nobility, and pride. As a fundamental element of Florentine culture and tradition since the Middle Ages, it has been represented in paintings by numerous Florentine artists such as Sandro Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo Buonarroti as a means of linking Florence to artistic beauty. Inspired by the geometry of the Florence Baptistry, the pen's shape was designed following the principles of the golden ratio.
"But the thing that makes Florence incredible is that it doesn't rest on its past greatness, it continues to inspire new thinkers and artists." -Marcel Proust
The Medici rulers of Florence were influential patrons of the arts who fostered a culture of creativity and innovation during the Renaissance. The Visconti Medici Briarwood collection pays homage to this important dynasty, embodying the spirit of artistic excellence and elegance that the Medici family represented.
The central ring is just one example of the enhancements made to the historical luxury pen collection, which is, itself, a part of Visconti's heritage. The Visconti Medici Briarwood ballpoint pen's pen clip (which was previously laser-engraved) now showcases the new enameled style seen on many new releases from the brand that made the bridge pen clip famous.
The pen is made of Acrosilk, an innovative material first introduced by Visconti, which consists of a compound of acrylic resin and silk fibers. For a more contemporary look, this special acrylic blend is sandblasted to achieve a fine satin finish and create the look of a finished wood grain. The pen comes in two elegant versions. Both feature briarwood-colored resin, but Visconti fans have their choice of ruthenium or yellow gold-plated trim.
The Visconti Medici Briarwood ballpoint pen features yellow-gold or ruthenium plating (to match the pen's trim). The Visconti Medici Briarwood Collection is also available as a fountain pen or rollerball pen.
