I was excited to try this pen. I have a Compass 911. I liked the nib but the pen body felt like light weight plastic. I also have a Pro Gear, which love. This is a great starter pen. I have the F nib. It writes with a crisp thin line. I have a sailor ink cartridge in it. There is a little feedback, but it writes smoothly, especially for such a fine line. I haven't tried it on cheap paper yet, but I expect it will write on, say regular copy paper with minimal feathering. I'm happy with the pen. I like the triangular grip. But I also like the Lamy Safari grip. The Tuzu grip is less aggressive triangular than the Safari grip.

I was so glad to get Argentina during the Sailor Sale. Love that brilliant orange and yellow combo. Nothing discreet about this pen. It's a party pen for sure. I haven't inked it up yet, but if it performs like my other Sailors, it will write like a champ.

This is a relatively light colored ink and can disappear in some tinted papers. To my style it is a little towards the dry side but flow well enough.

Nice thick glass bottle, with a stable shape and the capacity I was looking for. It arrived perfect, with not even a scratch to it. I've just rinsed and washed it well, printed a label and attached to the bottle, poured my ink, and ready to go. Awesome find.

I am in love with this pen. First, it's my favorite color and a demonstrator. I love demonstrators. Second, it has an awesome nib. It's just a Sailor Broad nib; their nibs tend to run on the narrow side. I know to expect that of a Japanese nib. This particular nib, however, writes like a dream, even if it is on the narrow side. It's plenty wet and the nib somehow has more character than their usual B nibs. It makes me want to keep writing more. That's a great quality in a fountain pen. Sailor quality remains, as always, at the top of their field. I highly recommend their fountain pens.

This pen is one of the most beautiful colors I can imagine in Fresca Blue! And it's a Sailor, so it writes!!!!

Purchased Sakura, Ume, and Yomogi. I've only tried the Sakura so far, but I am dissapointed in this swatch as it is displayed on the chart as being pink in hue, but upon using it is orange actually. The color itself is nice (if I was aiming for orange) and the volume of ink in the sample is a good amount.

Definitely worth the wait, as always Pilot did not disappoint. Nib writes as smooth as butter and the translucent colour brings magic.

I bought this because I live in Oklahoma. I was a little disappointed because I was expecting a nice purple color but it is a muddy purple and very dark. Would like to have seen better samples. I still would have purchased this ink though, after all it Sailor so it is great quality.

This ink is such a pretty color reminds me of hot apple cider (I like my tea darker). You can't go wrong with Sailor ink.

I like Sailor's current focus on pastel and translucent pens. This is my favorite size in the Sailor lines.

Purchased black, EF nib. Perfect for what I had in mind. I had to adjust my order several times before I was able to settle on this pen, and I don't regret it one bit. Customer service was excellent in this regard! Value is not fantastic (you mainly pay for the gold nib), but pen feels great.
-Sailor is a Japanese brand. Compared to their Western counterparts, these pens' nibs run finer. As someone who likes writing smaller, Extra Fine was perfect for me and may not have been a size I could find easily from a Western fountain pen.
-The pen is small; make sure to check all product specs before buying! I know I have small hands but when I first held the pen I was surprised. I nearly returned it but I am glad I didn't. Posting the pen gives it a more normal feeling length if that a concern. Pen Chalet offers a fair return policy if you get the pen and decide you don't like it, but make sure to check the details.
-The pen is light; the plastic body does not carry the same weight as a pen that is constructed of metal. If this matters to you, please keep that in mind. Again, check the product specs!
-Do a bit of research on the ink capacity; not necessarily of this pen specifically but of Sailor pens in general with their proprietary converters and see if it suits your needs. Some users have found the ink capacity of Sailor's pens too small. This most likely will not be an issue for me especially since I went with an Extra Fine nib, but it's worth pointing out for others.
Some additional thoughts if you are debating between this and these two other very similar pens from Sailor like I was:
Sailor 1911S: The only difference will be the shape of the pen. I settled on the Pro Gear Slim because of its flat ends; I was looking for something that would be easy to take with me in my shirt pocket and this is perfect.
Sailor 1911L OR Pro Gear (not slim): Sailor's 1911L pen or their Pro Gear pen (not to be confused with this pen, the Pro Gear Slim) are great if you want a full sized fountain pen. Soon after receiving this pen, I purchased a 1911L in silver so I could have a full sized version of this pen that wasn't too similar. The full sized pen offers a more standard size along with a nib that is a more high-end 21-karat gold as opposed to this pen's 14-karat gold.

This review is for 024, yet I’ve found all of the studio inks to be compatible with nearly all of my pens. I like the minimal branding, too. Many of my pens just don’t have good ink flow. I think they are fine for most people but I like a pen to write wet consistently. I used this ink in a fine Jowo and even with the fine line the subtle color (beyond “dark”) is visible. A green black for the most part.

I might be biased because I greatly enjoy grey and green and purple, and this dual-shader mixes all those together in a fun way. In general, Sailor Manyo inks may be one of the best ink values out there, and Ayame works great for me - it’s also dark enough to read easily in thinner nibs, which is important to me, as well (my handwriting tends toward the smaller side).

Beautiful ink, darker than the sample online would suggest. A great accent color to my notes. Dries quickly and does not feather, even on cheap printer paper.
