TWSBI Diamond 580ALR Fountain Pens Reviews
This is my 2nd TWSBI, and I love the pens. My 1st was an Eco. I especially like being able to take this one apart.

Have the stub nib. Love it, when it works. It’s definitely finicky which is to be expected, but I think more finicky than I expected. Then again, I don’t have other stub nibs to compare to so I can only say that it underperformed my expectations. That said, When it starts, it works great.
As to the look of the TWSBI... I don’t like it. I dislike the smoky pen cap area. I don’t like the look of the R-model ridges (I don’t mind the feel bit dirt/grime builds up in ridges over time). And I just don’t think I’m all that impressed with the overall styling. The eco looks cuter!

An excellent writer. I bought a BROAD nib (Prussian blue) for two reasons: slow down the writing (hard to take quick notes with a broad, need space for writing letters properly) and "leveraging" the variation of the inks. The pen is fabulous: a great writer, easy filling system (no mess) and the grip is very comfortable as the lines on it are very small. The weight is just right for this type of pen and it posts. Hard to beat the price/quality ratio.

I don’t know where to start. I have one of his pen for so long, and I just cannot connect with it. I have a fine point and it writes with a thicker line more like a medium nib. It is not smooth, it writes scratchy. I have a travelers notebook so I use the authentic travelers company inserts that I write in and I am just not happy with the scratchiness and the thicker lines. I’m trying to give it a chance.

The top sub $100 piston in my opinion. Nothing else comes close...some $200+ don't even match this.

I actually received this purple pen by mistake, but Pen Chalet promptly resent the Nickel color I ordered. I already had the 580 AL with a Fine nib, which I loved, so got this one with the Extra Fine nib. Perfect for sketching. It is easy to hold and fill. The nib is very responsive, and does not feel scratchy. The ribs on the grip feel good, although a bit of a pain to get cleaned up if ink gets there during refill, so just take your time wiping it for a little longer! I highly recommend it if you want a beautiful high quality pen that is reliable and won’t break the bank!!

My second TWISBI pen. I love the gunmetal ALR. Classic feel. Comfortable writing instrument. Smooth fine nib, but wet. Highly recommend.
