Super nice pen. A little lighter than I thought. Great service from Pen Chalet! Super fast shipping too.

Pen wrote great out of the box and is beautiful to look at. It's definitely a Japanese fine, and even then seems like it might even be close to a Japanese extra fine, and it doesn't write quite as wet as I'd like, but that should be easy enough to adjust. Overall, very happy with the performance and aesthetics of the pen Will probably get another Sailor in the future, but with a broader nib.

This pen is lighter than any other fountain pen I own of this quality. I generally prefer pens with a bit more heft. That being said, the pen is a gorgeous object. The clear demonstrator barrel, with gold accents, is stunning, and the nib offers one of the smoothest writing experiences I've had -- and I own a LOT of fine writing tools. It left me looking for a pen just like it, but a tad bigger and with a bit more heft. The music nib is not like the Noodler's music nib, vis a vis three tined but it writes like a dream!

This is a fabulous pen! It took me only 10-15-ish minutes to get the hang of the unique music nib & It's been my go-to favorite pen ever since. I write a lot and there's no hand fatigue whatsoever. It writes smooth as glass while adding a touch of style to "everyday" writing, plus the transparent skeleton version look's as hot as it writes! It's a perfect addition to the collection.

This is a review from an artist point of view. I had been searching for a fountain pen with flexibility and width variation, like a dip pen such as G pen or school pen while can draw thin line as a 0.3mm gel pen. My first found is kaweco sport extra fine. I like how it draws smooth on paper but the line width is like a 0.7mm gel pen. My second found is a Platinum preppy 0.2. The line width is what I want but this pen is a bit sketchy on paper and too stiff. Then I come across this Sailor 1911 extra fine. This pen draws smooth on paper and with the same line width as preppy 0.2. I pair it with platinum pigment ink burn sepia. It goes really well with watercolor. The nib is springy and have some flexibility with some width variation. The weight just prefect for me when it posted. Can’t wait to draw more with this pen.

The 1911 Standard is a beautiful classic pen with a gorgeous nib. This is really a smooth writer. My only small concern is the one might find it a bit light but very comfortable when posted.

This pen has performed like a charm and has re-established my penmanship. They say the 21k nib is better...all I can say is the 14k is fantastic. The service from Pen Chalet is spot on too...I will not shop elsewhere as it is a one-stop shop for all my needs.

College ruined my former penmanship. 30 years later it never came back. Decided to buy a quality nib and do something about it. I have been further aggravated by pens skipping on most every work order and check I write. I bought the 1911 Standard as a starter. I love it. My penmanship has improved in just days because I now care again and have a great tool to work with. I am very pleased with this pen, especially the nib. And with the service and communication I received from Pen Chalet, I will be buying again, and will look no further.

This is the first Sailor I've ever had and I'm very impressed. Beautiful pen in every way and the nib is one of the smoothest I've ever written with. This will not be my last Sailor!
