Platinum Preppy Fountain Pens Reviews
Bought these for a cheap pen to play around with eyedropper conversion and some ink samples I had sitting around. Preppys are always a reliable and cheap pen. If you are looking for a starter pen, an everyday carry you won't care too much about misplacing, or to play around with converting a pen these are a great choice.

Switched it to an eyedropper, penabled someone, and it works beautifully.

Great writing, refillable fountain pen for under $5! I have both the medium and the fine nib sizes and they're both good. Haven't tried the XF yet but given how fine the regular F nib is, I don't think I will need to.

I am using this pen for sketching and I love it. I did have a problem inserting the cartridge and looked online for info. Ultimately I just pushed the cartridge in in and it appears that some ink flowed out and is visible. However, the ink flow is fine from the nib.

Preppys are great little pens: excellent for the money. I've had several. However be warned, the red ink is pretty pinkish. My only problem ever with a Platinum product.

I am astonished by how well these cheap $4 pens write. If I'd known about Platinum Preppy years ago when I first attempted to get into fountain pens, I would have been hooked long ago. These write smoothly. No scratchiness. No burping. I converted them into eyedropper pens easily. These pens are a wonderful beginner pen. I'm still a sucker for my Lamy Safari pens, however, these are a nice inexpensive alternative.

Love this pen! Very neat writing and definitely came in handy for all my grad school notes. Awesome deal for the price that Pen Chalet offers

These pens are affordable, but each one has variations on how much ink it will distribute.

I bought the Preppy with the 0.3mm point. It is altogether too fine a point for me.
I've since bought one with a medium nib. I'll see how that one behaves.
The pen writes smoothly. The 0.3mm point is rather dry however, and the Platinum blue-black ink is on the pale side, so the line is not the most visible. I've purchased some black ink cartridges this time around.
Only flaw is that the plastic body is thin around the threads where it holds onto the section.
My pen dropped on the floor, and cracked in this area. Thus, the purchase of another pen.
