Platinum Curidas Fountain Pens Reviews
It's a new favorite in my fountain pen arsenal. It has been in daily use. The mechanics, design, and nib quality are all excellent. I can see why Platinum hyped and marketed this pen the way they did; clearly they knew they had something good.

Not quite a Pilot VP but very close. The body is a whole lot lighter and maybe twice as big around. The nipple on the front can be a distraction but it is probably just a matter of getting used to it. They tend to be either complementary or supplementary to each other. Paired together they make up for the other's weaknesses. Together they will handle any situation.

I thought the long knob would bother me,but after using the pen for about 3 weeks, its not an issue. Not having to worry about capping the pen is super convenient. I wish you guys had the Blue in stock...I would get another one now.

I like the way this pen write-- the fine nib is a typical Japanese nib, more like extra fine than fine. However, the pen nib dries up after about 8 hours of not being used. I have to rinse the nib every time I go to use the pen. Since the manufacturer said that this would keep fluid extra long, I am extra disappointed!

I am a lover of the unusual pen. This and my namiki vanishing point are such pens. The Curidas is everything that was promised. The steel nib is a smooth writer and the pen seems sturdy. It flows easily even after sitting a few days. It feels sturdier than the Vanishing but I like them both. I waited for and am very happy with this product so far.

Couldn’t even put it together. It sprung apart as I tried to put in a cartridge. If I wasn’t so frustrated it might have been comical. Waiting to see about a return without penalty because one part flew behind the dishwasher. I love Platinum but this pen is a disaster.

This is my first and only capless pen. I was looking for something I could use when I am annotating books I am reading since I am constantly capping and uncapping my pens when I am doing that. This works perfectly and is affordable. My grip on the pen is not affected by either the clip or the small nib under the pen body, though I do tend to hold my hand a bit further back when I write. The one surprise I had was how fine the EF nib is. This is my first Japanese pen (I have some German, Italian, and Taiwanese pens and their nibs are a bit wider for each size. But I am liking the EF for how I am using it, and I really like how nicely the clicking function works. I would buy it again!

Not sure if I just got a lemon but the nib (fine) skips and dries out completely after a line of writing. I’ve been pleased with my other Platinums (Prefounte and Procyon) but my “step up” to a more expensive model has been discouraging.

I do not own any Platinum pens prior to the Curidas. Never wanted or was interested. Why did I get it?
1. Curious to see how this would compare to the Vanishing Point by Pilot when it is held to write. I dislike the VP and don’t care for it. Curidas is definitely the game changer.
2. It is also a clicker like the VP and ENgage by Monteverde and I have a soft spot for pens of that nature.
3. Price point was affordable.
Cheers
