Pretty scratchy for a 100$ f.p.

I own one in red color. Very complicated assembly mechanism but I like it. EF nib is thin and smooth. Overall great pen especially if you do not like the fact that fountain pens need to have cap on all the time. One negative - too long.

I was finally able to ink this up today and give you my opinion on this fountain pen. Though this is a resin / plastic pen the overall construction and quality is done very well as you would expect from Platinum. The nib is perfect with slight hint of feed back for extra fine as expected. Hopefully in the next iteration of this pen if there is one they shorten the push button or make it a twist lock mechanism which I think might work better. However I did find one annoyance about this pen and it has to do with the protrusion regarding the hinged internal flip cap. I found it troublesome to grip the pen properly and the clip did not help either. With a minor internal hack I was able to flip the nib around so that the protrusion faced up and the clip down thus making the pen much more comfortable for me. Eventually I removed the clip entirely which I found no use for. The pen operates as intended with no issues that I could immediately notice. The removal of the clip is perfectly fine and it was option intended to be removed by the user if so desired.

This is a fun and ingenious pen. It isn’t perfect but I don’t regret getting it. It’s a conversation starter and cheaper then the Vanishing Point so I don’t worry as much about losing it.

I really like this pen. I have always liked Platinum pens and this one has made me a bigger fan. I bought this with an EF nib and it writes very smooth and is nice and wet. Platinum nibs are awesome! I have an issue of it drying up if not used for several days, I just need to clean the nib a little and it is back to working great. That may be an issue of it being EF, I have mostly used Fine nibs prior to this owning this pen. The design is different since it is retractable. As with all of my pens I have a slightly different grip. The little bumps on the bottom took a little getting used to but I don't notice them anymore. It does have a larger body than my other pens and I tend not to write for long periods (more than 20 minutes) with it. Works great as a daily driver and will be a regular in my rotation. I hesitated to purchase because of reviews I saw on UTube: I worried that clip and proturbances on the barrel would interfere with grip on pen.Not a bit of it!
Pen is comfortable to hold, EF nib writes smoothly, mechanism works flawlessly.
Cartridge insertion is a tad complex, but easy to master.

Fascinating mechanism! The fine nib is a bit finer than western extra fine. The diameter is similar to a Noodlers Ahab. It's a little long with the nib retracted, but just about perfect with the nib extended. The clip doesn't bother my grip, but it's easily removed if it troubles you. Impressive pen! Writes well. Has a comfortable fit in the hand. Clip does not get in the way of my writing. Capacity for ink is average, but that just allows me to try various inks with the pen. I purchased the Extra Fine nib. After using this, I think I would purchase the Fine nib if I were to buy again.

Pros: 1. Looks cool, not too industrial, not too classical. 2. Glides effortlessly once the nib softens up after repeated use. 3. Large and bold with a quirky, intricate mechanism for accessing the converter.
Cons: 1. Too long to clip it in pocket. 2. It took a while to soften the nib and to get the ink flowing smoothly.
Overall, it is surprisingly light with a broad grip. If you like the Pilot Vanishing point, you'll like this one, but the writing experience is completely different due to the broad grip and extreme lack of heft.
