Platinum 3776 Century Fountain Pens Reviews
This nib is silky smooth – it is the smoothest writing pen I have, and it’s not even close. It’s also beautiful just to look at – I was leery of spending the money, but I’m glad I did, because this pen is worth it!

I love it very much even I am not very familiar with the Japanese fine nibs. I really do like mine, the softness to it makes the writing experience not as smooth as I use to, but very pleased ! Thank you very much :) Oh the pen by itself is gorgeous ! the picture don't show it's beauty.

This was my first music nib, and my second 3776 Century (my other one is an EF: nothing but extremes for me, it seems). I adore it. The music nib is silky smooth and cooperates gorgeously with my shading inks, laying down a fat, sensuous line that turns my printing and cursive from spindly to elegant and flowing. Though I still love my EF nib for work (cramming editing notes into the margins of printouts requires a tiny nib), the music nib has quickly become my go-to for bullet journal headings, diary entries, and discovery writing for my fiction. It's just so much fun to use!

Such reliable and nice quality pens! I use these (in four different colors) constantly while traveling for work. They travel well due to that sealing cap mechanism. Not a leak yet and I fly 2-4 times a week.

When I first received my 3776 is came without the converter so I had to use the cartridge suppled by Platinum. It wrote horribly. It was dry and scratchy and weak on ink flow. So I ordered the converter (which wasn't provided with the pen I ordered) at additional cost, hoping that would resolve the problem, and the staff set aside a pen I could exchange it for if it didn't. I finally received the converter and inked it up with the Monteverde Sapphire, an ink I knew flowed well because it was lubricated. No problems after that. It 's now a nicely writing pen that provides just enough feedback for me and wet enough for the ink to read well. It's a well-balanced pen that weighs enough but not too much to write for extended periods. The problem could've been more quickly resolved if the converter had come with the pen. It was sold as "On Sale," but once I had to pay for the converter and for shipping, it actually cost more than it would have at another retailer. (Part of the problem was self-inflicted because I didn't read the description closely and assumed Pen Chalet was selling the pen as other retail sites I had reviewed this pen on. Still, I have this bad taste in my mouth about it being advertised as one sale when the price seemed to have really been based on not including a converter.)

Can't go wrong with these pens. I have a this pen in fine, medium and music nibs, all of which perform far above their price point. Well made, have never had a problem with them drying up between uses.

This is a very nice pen with a smooth writing nib. I really enjoy writing with it. It is comfortable enough to write with for long periods and the nib is smooth and wet.

Black Diamond is the latest color I chose to join the half dozen 3776's I already own. I truly love this pen and the soft-fine nib is my favorite. Of all the soft or flex nibs on the market, it is most like a true vintage nib, especially in its responsiveness. These nibs allow me to flex MY creativity and allows for nice thin fines in my flourishes-my own Spencerian-style handwriting appears the way it was intended to look about a century ago, near the time I learnt it. Clearly not a pen for beginners but if you have a practiced hand with flex nibs and value a responsive nib that does what YOU want, you may enjoy this nib as much as I. Great pen in all other aspects, its medium large size is comfortable to hold for long writing sessions as I've got arthritis. The slip and seal innovation does exactly what it advertises; hadn't picked up one of mine for nearly a year, yet the ink was as fresh as if I'd just filled, it wrote perfectly! This pen is already a classic and well deserved. The color and look of the pen is superb, like the Bourgones and Chartes Blues I have the Black Diamond is semi-transparent and the silver trim sets it off beautifully. I believe this soft-fine nib the best flex nib on the market, even if it were double the price (but glad its not), neither do I mind having to supply the converter. Thank you Platinum for such a FANTASTIC line of pens and that incomparable soft-fine nib, their other nibs are a joy too. Thanks also to Pen Chalet for such great prices and fast service.
