The pilot vanishing point was my first moderately priced pen that exceeded my expectations. It's easy to place the pilot vanishing point in your pocket and have access to it within seconds. The pilot vanishing point is an extremely smooth writer.

I love my vp. It is an immediate daily carry. Super smooth. I got the medium and it turned out to be a bit more like a western medium than a Japanese, but that's fine, because I like broader nibs. However, I dropped it ONE TIME, from less than three feet and put a hole in the white finish to show the black underneath. Not a huge problem, and certainly a user error over anything pilot did, but I was expecting a bit more durability. Overall though love the pen and would recommend it for sure. Don't worry about where the clip is, your hand will naturally find what's comfortable! It is a fantastic pen, and if I were the type to have multiples in my collection then the vp would be a top candidate for that.

I LOVE Vanishing Point fountain pens. I have to admit, I used to be of the mindset that fountain pens are not writing instruments to be "clicked" for use like ballpoints, but repeatedly capping and uncapping a regular fountain pen in my office and in my classroom made me rethink that approach. The Pilot Vanishing Point and Fermo fountain pens are both attractive and supremely functional. Their convenience is terrific, backed by the quality of the pen and (what I find to be) it's attractive aesthetics. The nibs run a bit on the fine side - as I prefer a medium point, a broad nib on Pilot pens feels perfect to me. The nibs have always been reliably smooth and a joy to write with. The position of the clip at the writing end might be a drawback for some, but despite my completely incorrect pen grip, it is still very comfortable for me. I now have a Vanishing Point or Fermo as part of my everyday carry at all times. I'm hooked!

What a beautiful pen. I love the vanishing point pens. This is my fourth pen and is my go to pen for work. Glossy black with gold accents makes it really stand out. I received a fine and it flows just a tad more wet than my others but consistent and smooth. Thank you Pen Chalet for offering this pen at a great price.

A wonderful pen. I purchased one in black and white and one in matte blue. They are both extra fine because I gave one to my buddy at work. The extra fine is slightly scratchy but mostly smooth. I expected some scratchiness from an extra fine, of course. I'd recommend the Vanishing Point pens as they are a joy to use and a great value from Pen Chalet!

I love the convenience of a fountain pen that only takes one hand to use. I got the Matte Blue so the matte trim and black nib will let me concentrate on my writing without the shiny reflections and glare that chrome trim and gold and rhodium nibs cause. This is my third VP and I love them all. I prefer the CON-20 converter, even though the included CON-40 is performing fine. The CON-20 holds more ink. The Vanishing Point and Decimo are the best pens in the world.

This is my first gold nib pen. It's a little heavier than I had anticipated, but it's still comfortable to write with. the placement of the clip doesn't bother me at all and I barely notice it when I'm writing.
