Pilot MR Metropolitan Fountain Pens Reviews
I wanted an inexpensive pen that I could carry in my handbag and not feel it was to "precious" if something happened to it. I read so many good reviews on the Pilot Metropolitan that I decided to try one. It writes consistently well with the different inks I have used so far and is very comfortable in my average sized hand. I especially like the simple elegance of the plain black color.

Excellent quality. Good writer. I just so easily damage the nibs if I ever drop the pen, which requires a full replacement.

Love my Metropolitans as always. I have received everything I ordered except the second Metropolitan. I assume it is backordered.

The Metropolitan fountain pen is a quality product. It writes very smoothly and the ink flow is very consistent. I would recommend this pen to any prospective buyers.

A above average fountain pen. Occasionally, the pen skips while writing. Nevertheless, I am happy with the product.

Have not used a fountain pen an about 10 years. Selected the MR based on Pen Addict reviews. Good choice for a first pen. I was worried about how fine the line might be but it is excellent. Excellent quality pen without spending a fortune.

Right out of the gate the Metropolitan reminds me of the Pilot Knight over the years I have lost most of them. I keep 2 in my collection in the original packaging. The filling system is remarkably simple and bullet proof and identical to the Knight, one Metropolitan is in my tool box at work (Tool and Die maker) one on my desk near the computer and 2 assigned to my collection of 250 or so fountain pens from 1955 and up. For some reason I do not understand (yet) the ink flow is improved in the Metropolitan.
An interesting aside I dropped one on the floor capped, and it landed on the cap end the kinetic energy pulled the nib out easily reassembled and no harm done. that incident prompted me to experiment with the reassembly looking to alter the ink flow have been too busy repairing tooling to spend the time to really look at this.

This is my 4th Metropolitan and my second with a fine nib. I intend to swap out the nib with an EF nib from a Pilot Penmanship or a a Kakuno. Or maybe a Plumix nib. For now I'm using it as is. I love the dark purple color and the leopard print design.
