I love Pilot pens, and this one did not disappoint. The nib is so very smooth - one of my very smoothest-writing nibs. I chose the violet color and it is a lovely dusty violet. This is my first Pilot pen with this style of converter and I like it very much. Overall, one of my favorite pens.

This is my second Custom 74 with just a different nib size and colour. I love this pen over all the other favourites like the 92 and 823. Has a wonderful gold nib and is really value for money. The blue is gorgeous and I am really happy with the smooth writing and the Con 70 converter. I have a lot of pens and this is one of the best of them all.

I love this pen. Writes smoothly, flawlessly, and looks great right out of the box. Pilot has yet to disappoint me, no matter the price range. The included CON-70 is an interesting converter, and I was able to get a nice, full fill with it using the Pineider Pen Filler inkwell.

I ordered the Blue Custom 74 with Fine nib. I love the size and weight of the pen, unfortunately the Japanese's nib is smaller from a Standard Fine nib that I use too. I spoke with the Pen Chalet Customer service team member, and was able to get an exchange for a larger nib. Great service, fast processing.

I really enjoy writing with this pen. It is smooth and well tuned, but of course pilot typically does Ann excellent job with their nibs. It has a large ink capacity that is easier than others to clean! I have the medium nib which because this is a gold nib there is a bit of flex and so the line is a lot wider than most of pilots medium steel nibs. So be weary of that.

I've been using Pen Chalet for five years to purchase gifts for my graduate students. The Custom 74 is a nice choice--I prefer the harder to find orange color. You may be able to find the clear color at a cheaper price, but you won't get the customer service you get at Pen Chalet. They are extremely responsive and professional.
