I can't stress enough how great this thing is. It writes good while looking good. I've got a deep green pilot ink in it right now and it just bleeds refinement almost to the point of arrogance.

This is an interesting pen. Its nib is much bigger than I imagined, which doesn't affect the writing at all, but looks different. The body is translucent as well, which was unexpected but looks nice. Overall, it writes well, looks great, includes a converter and the presentation box it comes in is a real looker. I've read other reviews that some Monteverde nibs can have issues, but mine started writing out of the box without a problem.

My first stub fountain pen and I love it. I should have tried a stub before now. Pros: The way it fits in my hand un-posted [some reviews mentioned that it was a trace small, but my medium/stout fingers like it]. My penmanship with the stub. Threaded cap and converter. Overall quality. Points to ponder, not necessarily cons: A bit dry [mite be the ink? or the included cartridge] which leads to the next point, it is not a fast writer. The ink in the included cartridge is low contrast/light [very readable, just not my taste]. If a different ink in the converter behaves the same way, I would caution against using this pen for vigorous note taking or school work. Perfect as is for journaling and unrushed use.

I like to color and style of this pen. It works well in my smaller hand and has a nice touch. Definitely a steel at the sale price.
