What a great writing pen! I had some doubts but they were thrown out the window when I starting writing. Pen does look funky but it's so comfortable in hand and writes so smoothly.

I was concerned that the ABS plastic would be weak, I was impressed. It is shiny and strong. The threads are strong. I always use a strong case even for mid level priced pens, but this would be fine in a pencil case. I would not even carry a ballpoint loose in my bag, but the pen could stand the pressure, I just wouldn't want to test it. The red color is true and rich. I always add a converter and italic 1.1mm nib to get my favorite writing experience.

Whenever I ordered several Lamy Safari fountain pens of different body colors, only the blue ink cartridges came along inside the barrels irrespective of the body colors. So I decided to purchase this shiny blue one in order to make good use exclusively of those blue ink cartridges that I have accumulated. It can also be useful when traveling. I generally like to use bottled ink of my choice rather than the cartridge ink by way of utilizing the converters. BTW, since the LAMY text is engraved on the rear end of the barrel, it seems to subtly suggest that I use the pen unposted. Otherwise the logo text becomes invisible by hiding inside the cap when posted. Anyway, the Lamy Safari pens do the writing job reliably and hassle-free.

Very smooth writing pen,easy to use very functional.

It is a great pen. I prefer the Al Star for myself, the grip is a little larger and more comfortable for me to hold for long periods of writing. It is a good idea to go ahead and get a converter. It doesn't come with one and they are great for flushing, plus, I prefer to fill my pen from the bottle. I also think that for the price, the Pilot Metropolitan might be the way to go. In my opinion, way to high, but nibs are interchangeable.

I'm fairly new to the world of the Fountain pens and I'm quite enjoying it. I love my new Lamy Safari. It took me a short time to get used to and I had to wait for the ink to hit the nib and write smoothly but once it did, it worked amazingly.

I like this Lamy Safari. It writes a little scratchy and dry but I can she why people, mostly students, would enjoy this pen. I find the cheap paper feels better with this nib, but perhaps some breaking in is necessary. The body feels super light but also a little inexpensive for the price of the pen. Also kind of wish the converter was included at this price as well.

It's clip is really handy though!

Love the bright aggressive orangey-pink of the Neon Coral color. It pulls focus. I ink it up with Noodler's Ink Dragon's Napalm. Performance is solid - always writes with no hard starts, no skipping. It even works upside down. This is the pen I reach for if I want something I'm sure won't fail me. It's more dependable than some pens I own that were 10x the cost of this one.
