Lamy 2000 Fountain Pens Reviews
I did my usual cleaning. It skipped right from the first letter. Then today it got wet and the tines had split open a bit. I am retturning it. I like Pen Chalet and am confident Ron will make it right. I own 3 Lamys- no problems. This one has those quality control issues that we all read about. Lamy made a bad pen here.

I love the way this pen feels in my hand! I love how seemless the piston knob and nib attachment are... if you don't know where to look you may be hard pressed to locate it... I so wanted to love the way this pen writes, but as a lefty I just couldn't find the sweet spot.

What a great writer. I love the way the Lamy 2000 pen looks, feels and writes. It writes beautifully right out of the box.

I purchased the 2000 stainless steel version with fine nib. When the pen arrived the cap was somewhat scratched, perhaps from being tossed around in transit. When I contacted Pen Chalet, they instantly responded and sent a new pen with a return label for the old one.
My Lamy 2000 fine point is a wet pen and as such works best on premium grade paper. When used with a dryer ink, the pen works well on paper of lesser quality. Lamy 2000 stainless steel is a heavy pen and manufactured to very exacting specifications. It is solid and well made.

I love this pen. I love the way it feels in the hand and I love the way it writes. I've been using it for about a month and I've yet to experience a skip. There are plenty of reviews out there for a pen that's been around for a while, so I'll just leave it at "I love it."
As for Pen Chalet, I couldn't be happier. The price was right and they shipped this thing FAST. I'll be back.

Just wow! Purchased the Extra Fine nib and it is glassy smooth. This pen is quite the looker and even my husband (not into fountain pens) kept picking the pen up and saying how cool it is. Great weight and feel to the pen too.

I have the stainless steel medium nib very happy with it. Writes well and in general Lamy makes a good pen. I enjoy writing with it.

The pen is great, writes like a dream and I don't have any sweet spot issues. It is worth every penny. The customer service at Pen Chalet, and prompt mailing is great.

Having a Lamy Studio I thought I'd trade up and get myself a Lamy 2000 as I was tired of disassembling it just to refill the ink. The 2000 has a great internal piston mechanism that you activate by rotating the top of the barrel. The really great thing is the fit and finish are so good on this pen that unless you look really, really hard you cannot see the seam where the cap meets the body when you screw it back down. The whole pen is like this - it will take you a while to figure out how they managed to assemble it. There is a handy window built into the barrel so you can see how much ink is left.
The style is impeccable with good clean lines and smooth surfaces. There are no protusions, bumps, or cap threads to feel which I love tactially. It feels balanced in the hand with just enough weight. I have a medium nib which doesn't quite write as smoothly as the broad nib I have in the 2000 but the difference is minor. It is never scratchly and the line reflects the passion with which I write.
This is my favorite pen.
And if you want to see quality, take a look at the construction inside the cap. There was considerable engineering that went into the fittings needed to keep the cap in place either when posting or when just putting the pen away.
