The Lamy 2000 pen is all that I expected it would be. Fine nib writes fairly wet with Noodlers black ink. Feels very comfortable in hand and no issues with the ‘so called’ sweet spot. Works extremely well. Looking forward to using it regularly. Writes smoother than the steel nib Lamys.

So far I'm loving this pen. I'm trying to use it as much as possible since the look and feel of the pen fits very well with my professional career and also its not too flashy to carry around elsewhere. I also feel that the pen writes smoothly and is quite durable.

I purchased my first (of four) Lamy 2000 in 1972, in Germany at the local price at the time; I now own the stainless steel as a nice addition to my collection. My 2000s have the OM OB M and F nibs. It would be nice for dealers here to carry the range of nibs offered in Germany and elsewhere given the resurgence in fountain pen interest and use. Anyway, the 2000 is a go-to pen for me due it's exceptional, award winning design, solid/reliable construction and the demonstrated reliability of the piston fill mechanism. The nibs are superb with nice metering. Diameter of the pen reflects consideration for fit and use in the human hand. I'm able to write for hours with this pen.

I had to get another 2000 so I always have one nearby. This pen is very comfortable to write with for long stretches - it’s light and the pen finish looks better and better as it’s used. A truly classic, well-designed pen.

Love this pen! Quality build, fit and finish. Also, very cool looking! I'm a big fan of Japanese nibs (F), so I ordered this one with an extra fine (EF) nib. Very smooth writing with just a touch of feedback. Perfect, for me! Performs well posted or un-posted although for me, seems a little more balanced in the hand posted, so that's how I use it. All in all, a great pen. No regrets at all!

A classic that should always be a part of one’s journey into the fountain pen hobby.
With a solid writing experience and timeless look there is a reason this pen has existed virtually unchanged for over 50 plus years...

Nib writes vertical line thicker than horizental line, messing up my handwriting. This nib is not for me. returned.

Not performing so well. Got EF but it almost writes like a medium. Love the look and feel but rarely use it. Disappointed.

I thought this pen was ugly and was a prejudiced naysayer of positive reviews until I tried it and bought the EF from PenChalet. I eat my blotter paper. The Lamy 2000 is a buy it for life classic pen and Lamy should be proud offering it. Yeah, yeah, the nib has a sweet spot but humans adapt plus L2K is an excellent reverse writer. 10/10 for me.

As I continued to expand my knowledge and collection with fountain pens, I constantly saw this pen making lists as a pen that would last a lifetime. Visually, I found the pen very sleek and modern, so it was quite a shock to discover the design is over fifty years old.
In hand, this pen has become one of my EDCs, it is comfortable to write with and the makrolon body maintains a warmth that has an almost calming effect for me. I cannot recommend this pen enough.
