Lamy 2000 Fountain Pens Reviews

I've been using the L2k EF for 2 months now. It is my EDC. The section was weird at first, but I got used to it quickly. I use it with Diamine ink, which is relatively dry and allows me to write on crappy paper without bleeding. The L2k also posts comfortably, unlike most other fountain pens I've used. If my L2k broke or got stolen, I would buy another.

Everyone has been talking about the Lamy 2K for so long I had to get one for myself. I choose a medium nib. It's my first piston filler and it was a breeze to use. I like the wide line the medium nib provides very much. It feels so light in my hand. It's truly a classic amongst fountain pens. I'm glad it is part of my collection after all these years. It writes very nicely; however, for me, long writing sessions with this pen doesn't work so well. It can feel like it's dragging rather than skating along the paper. The type of paper makes a big difference that is for sure. Overall, I like this pen very much. I just don't reach for it as often as others.

I got the EF, and I think I lucked out with it being a true western EF. The sweet spot that people complain about isn't an issue for me. Those people may be having issues with holding the pen in a consistent manner. Due to the atypical section, I can see that it would be easy to rotate away from the proper angle while writing. I believe that it requires some acclimation for those who find it unnatural.

This pen is my EDC. I carry it in a single pen sleeve, in my pocket. Inked with a Diamine, it's perfect for normal paper too. The sturdy black makrolon body is unassuming, only attracting attention from other fountain pen enthusiasts. I'm never selling this pen.

I love this pen! Balanced and comfortable to hold, it writes VERY wet and VERY smoothly. I find no problem with the infamous "sweet spot." Because it writes so wetly, I may need to find a drier ink (Perle Noire loaded now)for cheap paper; the XF nib remains smooth but leaves a pretty wide line on such as copy paper, etc. On decent paper the nib is perfect; this pen literally feels like it's floating over the page. It's ready to write immediately even after sitting open a few minutes or sitting unused a few days. I have other pens, some more expensive and some less than the 2K, but this is now my favorite. And I highly recommend Pen Chalet--great to work with, marvelous customer service!

I'm a Lamy fan so my first "next level pen" had to be a 2000. The styling is amazing. Seeing it online doesn't do it justice in the finest details. The makrolon body gives it a unique feel and look and the blind cap is so seamless you won't know it's even there! My only disappointment is that I bought the EF and it's not quite as fine as I would like. That said, this pen writes so smoothly you'll be willing to overlook the line width. I love it.

Gorgeous pen. I didn't inked yet but Lamy is my go to brand and I never had any bad surprises or complaint about those pens in the past. Not as heavy as I thought, very smooth metal body and with just few manipulations the nib seems to be one of the softest I own. Huge fan of Lamy. I will see with time but great quality as ever. I am amazed how the reservoir filler is almost invisible I did take me few seconds to notice it.

Well, I have to admit I resisted getting this pen as it looked a little boring & people were always saying how great it is, etc. OK so it's really a cool pen. It has a unique look & feels great.When I opened it, I looked for the converter (what it didn't come with one!!!) because I forgot it was a piston filler. You literally cannot see the spot where the cap turns. Anyway, it writes beautifully. A shout out to Pen Chalet nib selection tool. I really could not decide on fine or medium nib as I've been shying away from fine nibs. But the tool said I should get a fine and it is exactly what I wanted. So thanks! Very happy with this new addition.

I needed a replacement for my old Lamy 2000 who unfortunately was badly damaged in an accident. The pen chalet was prompt and I got the pen within the week to use as my daily driver. Excellent service!

One of the best pens around. It may not look that fancy but the way it writes is to die for. My friend introduced me to this pen and after using it I immediately wanted one. It is very smooth and consistent. I'm left handed so writing with fountain pens has always been a little of a struggle but with the lamy 2k I found it very easy to find that perfect angle without having to awkwardly hold my wrist. Highly recommend!
