Conklin Duragraph Fountain Pens Reviews
I was eager to try this pen so I forsook my usual washing of the nib and tried it straight out of the box. Wrote beautifully without skipping. Ink flow is good. Very good pen for the $$$. Am considering the Forest Green one as the price is right. My only issue is the pen is a little big for my tastes but still well worth the money. Barrel is a beautiful color. As always. service from Pen Chalet was excellent.

I bought this on sale during one of the Thanksgiving promos. I have purchased several fountain pens during the past year or so (other retailers), and to be honest, I would return about half of them. While I enjoy fountain pens and nice stationary, few of the inexpensive models are worthwhile (skipping, leaking, throwing ink when uncapping, poorly engineered feet/nib combos). I have even written positive reviews on other sites that I now regret. The full price of this pen is above my "inexpensive" threshold, but the sale tempted me :-) Having said all that, I LIKE this pen and it is a keeper! Thank you Pen Chalet.

I had the Conklin Duragraph in and out of my cart several times over the past 6 months and finally pulled the trigger during a recent sale. I went with the green color, which I loaded with Waterman Harmonious Green ink. I like the pen but I will point out what many other reviewers have noted already. First of all, the cap will post, but it takes the pen out of balance and makes it very long; unposted, though, it fits my hand fine. If you like to post your cap, consider the Monteverde Prima as an alternative. Next, the nib that I ordered is a medium but it writes like a fine. There are limited options for nib sizes available for the Duragraph, but it is a standard number 6 nib, so there are third party nibs available. Although the medium writes like a fine, it does have good ink flow and is not unpleasant to use. The clip is tight, but that can probably be adjusted. It is a nice looking pen and I am pleased with my purchase, but there are some considerations if you like to post or prefer a wider nib. As usual, Pen Chalet processed and shipped the pen quickly.

The Duragraph has one of the smoothest nibs. Wet ink flow. Great pen for a good price.

Very nice pen for the price. I have been wanting to try the Conklin line but had not wanted to spend a lot of money to do it. This pen writes well. I bought bottled ink and have been using the piston refill system which has worked flawlessly. The pen writes smoothly. Good ink flow. No creeping. It posts and I write with it posted and un-posted but find the latter fits my hand a little better (it depends on the size of your hand, mine is small). This pen is what I call "medium" size. Not as large as the big Monte Blancs or small like the Pelican 202. Thus, it is a good size for everyday use. The steel nib is a steel nib. Not as flexible as a gold but for everyday use it is good enough. I am happy with it. I write a lot a work and have been using it daily since I bought it. Will keep it in my fountain pen rotation.

Very pleased with this purchase. The fine nib is more of a medium, so keep that in mind when ordering. The nib was nice right out of the box, but after a couple of seconds writing on micromesh (which I do with all my new fountain pens), the nib is as smooth as butter on all sorts of paper.
The only minor issue I've had is a very tight clip that makes it difficult to clip to a shirt pocket. I hope with use and stretching, that issue will go away. But, even with that issue, I would buy this pen again without thinking twice.

I was amazed at how great this pen was, it looks like it should cost $100.00. The nib is wet and smooth. Good value this one.

My Duragraph arrived today. It is an excellent pen. I ordered a fine point and it moves very smoothly over the page and leaves a fairly wet line. I've been writing with Edelstein Topaz and have had no skipping or drying issues. This pen is a great value for the price. The steel nib is quite smooth.
