Conklin Duragraph Fountain Pens Reviews
I just received the Conklin Duragraph with a Stub nib and was very pleasantly surprised by the ease of creating lines of varying widths. Several other Stub nib pens left me somewhat disappointed with the "scratchy" feel of the nibs. I was beginning to resign myself to accepting that this was simply the nature of all Stub nibs. I was overjoyed when I first wrote with this Stub nib. The Conklin Duragraph is a great value and a real pleasure to use. I am so impressed that I will probably buy one or two other Duragraphs with Stub nibs.

This was my first modern pen purchase. I have always just used vintage pens that I mostly inherited. I wanted an every day pen to carry that I didn't have to worry about losing or breaking. I wasn't sure about having a steel nib, and didn't expect much for the price. Was I ever surprised. The finish and feel of the pen compare very well with my old Parker Duofold. I have the stub nib, and it writes very smoothly. With the stub, I can't really find any fault with a steel nib, since flexibility isn't needed.

Awesome pen - but be aware that it's quite large, and even a bit too large when posted. My hands are men's medium, and I can write comfortably with the Duragraph unposted. Beautiful, well made, and writes like a dream.

This is a pen that originally wasn't on my radar. The pen was on a special promotion at an absolute steal. So it simply couldn't be overlooked, and this was a perfect opportunity to get another stub. I have seen several reviews where the nibs were an issue, so I had no expectations for this pen. The stub is actually one of the best I own. This steel nibbed pen has replaced higher end pens with a gold nibs in my rotation. It's a light pen uncapped. It can be posted, but I find it a tad back heavy if it is. ( but I also have smaller hands) The grip section is very comfortable, and the area where the pen is threaded for the cap is not sharp and is very comfortable in feel. It's design is a common one, but the materials color is very nice. This was a first purchase through Pen Chalet for me, and I could not have been more pleased with this pen, and the other items I purchased. As I stated earlier, this has definitely knocked out a few pens down a notch in the rotation.

Beautiful, but a little fusty. I use it to write Chinese, very convenient and comfortable in daily life.

I had had my eye on the Conklin Duragraph in amber for some time, but I always found a reason to buy something else instead. When Pen Chalet had a weekend promotional price, though, I quickly decided to take the plunge, and I have to say I'm very pleased.
The medium nib wrote well but not perfectly out of the box. A little tine alignment and it was writing very smoothly. Mine is a wet writer, which I like. I find the medium nib to be a little more fine than some other mediums I've had (e.g., Lamy Safari), but I like that too. In fact, that's the way my preference usually runs.
If you like to post your pen cap, you should be aware that this will post, but it will make one very long and, in my opinion, unbalanced unit. I don't post my pens, so this isn't a problem for me.
The appearance is very attractive, and I think it looks like a pen that costs much more. I have no complaints about fit, finish, or operation. I may go back and buy in other colors as well.

This model is well worth the price. The nibs are wet and exceptionally smooth. The fine is not noticeably different than the medium whereas the stub is a true stub and not a 1.1 italic as it is quite smooth whatever the nib is sent. The screw-in converter is much appreciated. The replacement nibs are also screw-in and easily replaced.
With a fill of Noodler's Black,my Duragraphs work exceptionally well.

At first I was a little shy of buying an American fountain pen, but to my surprise, these pens are wonderful. I have three of this brand and will be buying the fourth as well. The nibs are great but are not consistent. I had to use micro mesh on one of the nibs to smooth it out. The pen are large but lay good in the hand and have a superb balance, unposted. The medium nibs are a bit on the broad side, the 1.1 stubs are true to size and are absolutely wonderful to write with. I most definitely recommend this pen, not for beginners, but for slightly advanced fountain pen users.
