Conklin Duragraph Fountain Pens Reviews

I like the body of the Orange Nights Duragraph Fountain Pen I purchased a lot. But the writing experience left something to be desired. Out of the box, the nib skipped frequently, even though it had been thoroughly cleaned. Looking at the nib through a loupe, the tines seemed to be in alignment, but I couldn’t tell if they were perhaps touching. They were pretty close. Flossing the tines didn’t help. The feed looked fine. I replaced the nib with another #6 nib and now it writes perfectly and with the true medium I wasn’t seeing with the Conklin to begin with.

I like this pen a lot and I would say the bast part op it is the nib. The only drawback is I'm used to snap caps but it's growing on me.

Simply put, I was very pleased with the Conklin Duragraph fountain pen. "Once upon a time" I had an original Crescent fill Conklin, wanted another Conklin in my collection. It does everything a good fountain pen is supposed to do, i.e.: write smoothly for a good writing experience. I'm a "Happy Camper".

A gorgeous pen, that feels good in the hand. I expect a long and pleasant service from this fine instrument.

I love everything about my amber, stub nib Duragraph. I own a full-page Duragraph ad from a 1924 Saturday Evening Post, and the design hasn't changed much in 90+ years. The stub nib writes wet and is buttery smooth. Know that the Duragraph is a big pen which some may feel makes it a bit cumbersome and top heavy.

A large pen, similar in size to the Pelikan 800. An outstanding value, especially when considering the quality of the materials, construction and presentation. Nicely detailed and trimmed in chrome, with a flared black grip section, ultra-smooth steel nib with a hint of flex. Arrives in a sleeved, textured and padded vinyl box with genuine external stitching, padded faux suede interior and accompanied by a screw-in converter and two cartridges. A lot of bang for your buck.

I have the Amber in F and Stub nibs and the Cracked Ice in F. All are very satisfying to use and a pleasure to handle and behold. These pens are as remarkable in their own right as many in my collection that cost ten times or more to acquire.

Incredible value and smooth writing pen. The flex and flow is perfect with Caroube de Chypre. It is awkward when posted but is long enough without it.
