Conklin All American Fountain Pens Reviews

I'm fairly new to fountain pens so forgive me for geeking out over my new pen. This time it's the Conklin All American in tortoise. It's just stunning and exactly what I wanted: a vintage-y feeling fountain pen. The barrel is lovely, and I really love the screw-on cap. "Conklin" is stamped on the gold-tone clip: very handsome indeed. Now for the stub nib; I hate it. Lucky for me I was able to swap it out for a fine nib which writes smoothly and perfectly. Thank you, Pen Chalet, for enabling me:)

I love the mix of darker colors in this delightful Conklin fountain pen. I have no quibbles about the pen or its ability.
Again Pen Chalet has a great selection of pens and you can find pens on sale every day. There is also a card for a little something off on your next purchase. what a money saver that coupon is! Thank you Pen Chalet

Perfect delivery, excellent presentation nd packing.

I've heard this a lot, but the truth is Conklin's All American is my absolute favorite pen. I have this pen in both the orange and brownstone and have zero complaints about either. I use a medium nib and find the pens - no matter how long I take between uses - are ready to write on the first stroke. I just find these pens excellent in all aspects. The smooth wet nib just makes me happy. And the colors are amazing.

Came in ahead of time even if shipping to Canada, Nib was perfect right out of the box, large pen just as expected. Stellar service. Could not ask for more. Even my friend who are not into fountain pens compliment me on the pen.

This Conklin All American is by far my favorite pen in my collection. The nib was just a little scratchy (F) when I got it, but one full fill of the converter later and it is super smooth. I chose the Sunburst color with Diamine Steel Blue for the ink and am loving the combination.

WOW what a nice pen! I jumped on the last Pen Chalet deal to get a Black (M) and a Brownstone (M) 50% off.
The Black is really black :) Brownstone has a lot more depth than pictures suggest, a beautiful pen. The black nib looks really sharp on both pen.
The pen is BIG, but since i don't post no problem, 15.5mm barrel fits perfectly in my mid size hand and the pen is relatively light considering.
I matched the Brownstone with Robert Oster's Bronze ink, beautiful combo. Great writer, nib has good flow and wetness but needs a tap to get started oftentimes.
I highly recommend the All American; even at full price a great value IMO... I am getting the Blue next.

Everyone mentions how big this pen is, but you don't really appreciate it until you see it in person. As someone with small hands, it is way too big for me, but I still love it. I chose the 1.1 stub nib and it is lovely. The Brownstone color is classy and has a gorgeous shimmer in good lighting. The 1.1 nib has been a tad on the dry side but that is likely due to the ink I'm using which I will switch out on my next fill. The engraving is nice, doesn't take away from the finish of the pen. The clip is very functional, but be careful not to put pressure on the clip as you're twisting the cap open or you may bend the clip.

Very pleased with all aspects of purchase.

The nib didn't flow at all unless I pressed down hard with it, so I replaced it with one from another company. Otherwise, this is a great pen.
