Monte Verde used bock nibs. I find Bock to work quite well. I'm thankful Monteverde is now using these in their pens instead of whatever they were using before. I had a collection of Monteverde pens that were not very good writers. I swapped out to these nibs and they are all working!

I purchased a replacement Monteverde medium nib as I was not happy with my fine nib Innova (just too fine to show off the ink shading), but wanted to keep the pen and nib the same manufacturer. A huge benefit is that Monteverde nibs are made by Jowo as of January, 2020. I'm quite pleased with the pen now, and have a flex nib being delivered that I can't wait to try out (new design also, not like the older, more challenging flex nibs).

The walnut was very nice, the nib was another story. Very scratchy and tore the paper. Sent an email to Yafa and they are sending me a tested nib EF.

The Monteverde Impressa was my first "big" fountain pen purchase(I know, I know...but it was 'big' to me because I'd been using Jinhaos). I learned an important lesson from that purchase REAL quick! If it isnt a "flex" nib? Dont try to MAKE it flex hah! Anyhow, Pen Chalet continues to deliver quality products and shipping is always quick as ever. I was SO happy to get this & start using my Impressa again!!
