Noodlers Bottled(3oz) Fountain Pen Ink Reviews
Great value inks. Saturated colors got me back into using fountain pens.

WARNING-comments/ratings are for ANTI-FEATHER INKS ONLY: I have enjoyed many inks from this line over the years. That said, I was horrified at the lack of quality from two of the ANTI-FEATHER INKS-the Brown and Blue were both HORRIBLE!!! Most obvious was that both FEATHERED more than any ink I own or have tried (over 100) and both completely soaked through every high-quality paper I tried. GHOSTING, BLEEDING AND FEATHERING, I threw both new full bottles away.

I purchased Noodler's "House Divided" ink hoping to get a wine-red ink, however, what I got was a medium brown ink with an orange tinge. This is NOT a burgundy or a purple. However, the ink itself is a nice quality and flows well.

I am always Happy when I order Noodlers Fountain pen ink ( this time I ordered four different colors), and I am also happy with the excellent service I get from the wonderful folk at Pen Chalet. I have always gotten excellent and efficient service with every order. Thank you!

This is a review for the Eel Black. First, yes, this is a truly bulletproof ink. I did some tests on it out of curiosity. Water (30 sec. to 1 min. under a running faucet) did virtually nothing to it; a barely noticeable bit of the ink smeared slightly when I ran my finger over it, but everything I'd written still looked sharp and clear. I then applied some isopropyl alcohol, and yet again, nothing. You'd have to destroy the paper itself to remove this ink. It also cleans out of my pens very easily. It's worth noting that the price is crazy good for the large amount of ink you're getting here.
That said, I don't like how long this stuff takes to dry. On low-quality papers, it performed like a champ and didn't have much feathering or super-long dry times, but on Rhodia (or similar), it took an age to dry, which I personally find irritating in an ink. Also, it can look kind of grayish or charcoal-like on the page depending on the nib. It can give you a good dark black, but you'll want to avoid really fine nibs, and you'll want to agitate the bottle a bit before you draw your ink.

Noodler's Inks can be very different from each other. Some are excellent. Some bleed and feather on everything. Some are downright dangerous to pens. Some (Baystate Blue) are referred to some pen users as radioactive waste.
I ordered Baltimore Canyon Blue. This is an excellent archival quality, bulletproof, really well behaved blue. It's not that far in color from the legendary and out of production Parker Penman Sapphire. If you want a closer approximation to Penman Sapphire, get Monteverde Horizon Blue. I can't tell the difference between Penman Sapphire and Horizon Blue.
Noodler's Baltimore Canyon Blue is a really beautiful color, not better or worse than Penman Sapphire, just ever so slightly different. However, unlike Penman Sapphire and Horizon Blue, this is really well behaved on all papers I tried including cheap copy paper. Absolutely no feathering, spread or bleeding even on cheap copy paper. It's completely bulletproof. It will not leave the page once it's dry, no partially bulletproof nonsense here. In my opinion this may be the best ink Noodler's makes. Worth every penny.

One of my true colored inks. I like the way it looks on paper and it is well behaved on less expensive paper. I am enjoying this ink a lot.

Had a problem with our original bottle (Blue Ghost, so it was immediately apparent there were floaters in the bottle), but Pen Chalet quickly and kindly replaced it for us! Noodlers inks are usually great, so it was a bit of a shock for us. Hopefully just a fluke, but I did have to knock down a star for that. It does also seem that the Blue Ghost needs to be mixed in to other inks at a pretty high percentage if you're trying to get it to fluoresce.

Awesome color, unable to find a paper that it wouldn’t bleed. This was my first fountain pen ink. I’m going to try another brand. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.
