Diamine Shimmering(50ml) Fountain Pen Ink Reviews

Super shimmery and watching it spin in a demonstrator pen is enticing. I love the way it looks on paper and in the right nib, it’s a smooth writing ink that’s not too wet.

I love this ink. There are definitely good things and bad things about it. First off, its gorgeous. Just about any shade you order this ink in is very pretty. The bad thing is that I find it can clog nibs fairly easily unless you write daily. When you are changing ink, a good thorough cleaning is a must with this ink. The fine particles will show up all over the place on your nib so be careful and if you ink something up, use it often.

Great color with a lot of shimmer! I loved using this ink for Christmas.

Make sure you shake or rattle the glittering particles in the bottle gently so you can see the shimmer that comes with the ink. Also gently rattle the pen before you write so that the glittering particles are suspended in the ink to see the shimmer on paper when you write. The shimmer is more noticeable doing this on paper especially with a wide nib size.

The dark blue ink is very nice on paper with subtle silver glitter. Sometimes you have to have the light hit the ink on the paper at a certain angle to notice the glitter in the written words.

This ink just makes me happy! Maybe not for everyone but I love it. Flows well and shimmers on the page. It would make my date book happy too if it had emotions.

I have several of these inks and all are really beautiful, even in fine nibs. Making writing fun :-) Some folks comment about clogging with the shimmer inks, but I have not experienced that problem with Pilot Metropolitan, Nemosine, Noodler's or Jinhao 750 or 450 pens I have, but they are a little slow to start in the Monteverde pens (Monza, Rodeo Drive) for me (but those pens are usually slow to start for me with any ink, so...

Firefly is a gorgeous warm red and perfect for Christmas cards. The Diamine inks have excellent shimmer and shading.

I've only tried the Firefly. I make sure to gently roll the pen in my fingers to agitate the shimmer. It's really a beautiful effect and with a broad nib, it writes wonderfully.

Can somebody post something about how they are using these inks in a fountain pen? Please? The colors are just gorgeous, the shimmer.. Yeah, makes me cockles twitter a bit. However, I've tried several in my pens (M nib) and the beginning is wonderful, but by the time I get to the end of the ink in the converter (with agitators) the shimmer is either gone or very very little. Still great inks! I'm cool with using a dip pen to get that shimmer.

I've just recently started using it...and I love it!! I got the "Arabian Nights" which is dark with silver highlights; more "appropriate" for use when "color" wouldn't be. I my nib of choice is a stub, with a 1.5 being my favorite, so on good paper this ink is fantastic when it has dried. I'd like to try something similar in a bright/vibrant color...but I'm not a vendor and already have more than a half liter of ink in various brands/colors. When I finally do purchase another "fun" ink, it will likely be Diamine Shimmering Ink.
