Noodler's Ahab Flex Nib pens can be challenging, and messy. If you use the built in piston converter, the semi-flexible nib goes through ink fast. You need a wet flow to avoid railroading. If you eyedropper fill the Ahab, the pen burps all over your drawing or letter at the point of greatest inconvenience. 308 to the rescue.
The Cartridge holds maybe 80 percent to 90 percent of what two piston converters would hold. You can only use two-thirds of an eyedropper filled Ahab anyway. Note, the 308 cartridge comes with a screw on cap that stows on the bottom side of the cartridge. So you can fill the cartridge, and cap it. Effectively, this means that if you have enough pre-filled cartridges, you can keep on using ink well nigh forever--until your feed and nib need cleaning.
As an additional bonus, I have a tremor so it makes it hard to fill converters (and pistons, and sack fillers, and ...) especially with tall narrow bottles like Robert Oster uses (and I'm falling in love with R. Oster products). Refilling eyedropper pens or cartridges with a syringe is MUCH easier AND neater.
The main downside is that the first cartridge into a clean nib and feed uses one-quarter to one-third of its capacity inking the nib and feed. Unlike eyedropper filling, the loss is significant. Of course, you will not have that problem when you screw in the next cartridge with the same into the inked feed .
For some reason, the idea of filling used, disposable cartridges for cartridge/converter fountain pens never appealed to me. Now I wish purpose made permanent refillable clear cartridges were a thing--international standard and mini, Lamy, Pilot, Platinum, Pelikan, .... Today (2019-08-13) I found myself daydreaming during my commute about how you might design, license, and contract locally for production of mainline purposely reusable cartridges.

I love these things! Why convert your Ahab or Neponset to an eyedropper when you can just take a pack of these wherever you are and have over 2.7ml of ink in each of them! No burping troubles when you use a cartridge. And they are even more affordable than converters made by other companies. You win in this one Noodlers.

The refillable cartridges are great for holding inks that stain converters like Noodler's Baystate inks.

Excellent and inexpensive. I got a variety of cap colors which is useful for sorting my ink colors. Useful for my Ahab that writes very wet and uses ink a little faster than other pens.

Innovative, eccomomical, and economical. They work great and make it very easy to bring extra ink along for travel. No leaks. Very nice feature being able to screw the cap on the rear of the cartridge while in use.
