About the Visconti Deluxe Piston
The Visconti Deluxe Piston fountain converter is a threaded converter that allows you to use bottled ink with cartridge style fountain pens. Whether you are adding a converter or replacing one, the Visconti converter is compatible with Visconti cartridge converter fountain pens and any fountain pen that accepts a standard international converter. When using with a Visconti fountain pen, the threading on the converter is not necessary, it is used the same as you would use a push-in style converter. Simply insert the converter into the section of the fountain pen (opposite the nib) and press firmly.

The deluxe piston is better. What makes it "deluxe"? It screws into your Visconti rather than just pushing into place. This means there is no chance the converter will come out of the feed by accident. I have also found that this converter does work with the TWSBI Diamond 50 inkwell which is a bonus.

Just what I needed for my Visconti fountain pen. I prefer bottled ink than cartridge. It fits the fountain pen ( Michael Angelo edition) very well and functions seamlessly.

I bought this converter as a gift for someone who owns a beautiful Visconti Rembrandt fountain pen so she could use bottled inks with it in addition to ink cartridges. Therefore, I've not actually used it in a pen, but I did rinse it with clear water and the mechanism worked fine. Also, it holds a good amount of ink compared to some other converters. It's a little more expensive than most converters, but is a Visconti after all. Some pens include a converter, but many do not. I prefer using bottled inks over cartridges, so it's totally worth buying in my opinion.
