I bought this because it is said to be a gentle formulation for vintage fountain pens. I was expecting boring, since it is safe. Far from it! This is my favorite blue. It is a rich, mid-tone blue comparable in my swatches to Noodler's Liberty's Elysium but displays a surprising red sheen in my journal with Tomoe River paper. I highly recommend Namiki Blue ink.

I purchased a selection of inks from pen chalet. Great service and beautiful inks. This Japanese ink holds its own and then some among Pelican, Waterman and others. One thing I wasn't aware of is that this beautiful bottle of Maliki has a built in 'dipping cup' which is very handy because I also like to use dip pens.
