I don't have many J. Herbin inks. This one is okay. I rarely use it. For some reason, I don't find the bottle attractive, so it doesn't grab my attention when looking thru my ink bottles to fill a pen. Maybe it's because they have a simplistic European style.

It is such a lovely color. I wasn't prepared to be enamored with it at all. There is something appealing to how it looks. Works well in my Sailor Pro Gear M. This is definitely a sleeper ink.

So glad I tried this adorable little bottle. Great value and great ink. The J Herbin Lie de The turned out to be my favorite brown ink. Behaves well generally, is not too light or too dark, not too warm or too cool, and even has some water resistance (some of it washes away but enough stays to know what was there).

Have been struggling trying to add the right shades of orange into my ink collection but am so pleased with this shade as it leans to the coral spectrum and easily does well in writing correspondence notes/envelopes (which was my need). I am also pleased with the performance of the ink itself since I use it primarily for dip calligraphy pens and found it superior in that it doesn't wick or feather out (which tends to be a problem on the envelopes today). Quality ink & GREAT color! Thank you!

Bleu des Profondeurs is a deep, dark, professional blue. Its flow is excellent, and it has just a tiny bit of very subtle shading - just a little bit lighter in spots, but not dramatically so. There's something pleasant and calming about how it looks on the page. I'm definitely considering the larger bottle of this one - I think it would be well worth it. (As for the value of the 10 ml bottle...well, think of it as a 10 ml sample, and it's priced about right, I'd say.)
