Aurora 100th Year Special Edition(55ml) Reviews
This ink flows smoothly in my ink pen. Glad my bottle was a Russet red, instead of a brighter red. Nice size bottle.

Aurora likely provides the best inks going. Period. I have used their Blue (dark enough to xerox as black, but clearly blue when you view the original -- very useful for lawyers keeping tab on documents -- for years and am pleased as well with their Red.

FAQs about the Aurora 100th Year Special Edition(55ml)
What is Aurora’s 100-Year Anniversary fountain pen ink and why is it special?
It’s a commemorative bottled ink celebrating Aurora’s centennial, released in limited runs and colors to mark the brand’s heritage. Collectors value it for the milestone theme, presentation, and classic, well-behaved performance in pens.
What bottle size and packaging does it come in?
Bottle size and packaging can vary by edition and market. Most anniversary releases arrive in a premium glass bottle with commemorative labeling and a presentation box; check the specific listing for exact volume and contents.
Is the 100-Year Anniversary ink safe for all fountain pens?
Yes, Aurora anniversary inks are dye-based and generally well-behaved. As with any ink, don’t let it dry in the pen; flush periodically to maintain smooth flow.
Is it waterproof or archival?
Most anniversary inks are not sold as waterproof or archival. They focus on rich color and everyday usability. If permanence is critical, test first or choose a dedicated permanent ink line.
How does the ink feel on paper—dry, medium, or wet?
Aurora inks are known for dependable, medium flow that works across a wide range of nibs and papers. The exact feel can vary by color and paper coating.
Does the anniversary ink shade or sheen?
Many colors show attractive shading; subtle sheen may appear on coated papers with wetter nibs. Results depend on nib width, paper, and the amount of ink you lay down.
What paper and nib sizes pair best with it?
For crisp office notes, use fine–medium nibs on standard paper. For expressive shading, try medium–broad or stubs on fountain-pen-friendly paper (heavier, smoother stocks).
How often should I clean my pen when using this ink?
With regular use, flush with cool water every 2–4 weeks. If changing colors, flush until clear. Avoid hot water or alcohol; a gentle pen flush helps if the flow feels sluggish.
Can I mix the anniversary ink with other inks?
If you like to experiment, mix only with other dye-based inks and test in a separate vial first. Avoid mixing with pigmented or iron-gall inks to prevent reactions or residue.
Will the ink stain clear demonstrator pens or converters?
Staining is uncommon but possible with any bright dye. Regular cleaning minimizes tinting; a mild pen flush usually lifts residual color from feeds and converters.
Is Aurora’s 100-Year Anniversary ink limited?
Yes, availability often depends on the specific anniversary color and production run. If a shade you want is in stock, consider purchasing promptly as restocks aren’t guaranteed.
Any tips for flying or temperature changes with this ink?
When flying, keep pens full or empty and store nib-up to reduce burping. Don’t leave bottles or filled pens in hot cars or freezing conditions; extreme temps can cause leaks or performance changes.
Does it dry quickly enough for office paper and note-taking?
Dry time depends on nib size and paper. On ordinary office stock with fine/medium nibs, it typically dries promptly; on coated papers, it may take extra time. Blotting paper helps with rapid note cycles.
Is the anniversary ink a good gift for enthusiasts?
Yes, the commemorative packaging and classic performance make it a thoughtful gift for collectors and everyday writers who appreciate Aurora’s history.
How should I store the bottle and how long will it last?
Store upright, tightly capped, away from heat and sunlight. Properly stored, dye-based inks remain usable for years. If you notice odor, sludge, or mold, discontinue use and replace.
