About the Fisher Space Pen Brand
Founded by Paul Fisher, the Fisher Space Pen Company created a "Universal Refill" for ballpoint pens in the 1950s.Fisher Space Pen Company continued to push the envelope by making a better ballpoint pen refill. Using thixotropic ink-semisolid and a pressurized cartridge the Fisher Space Pen refill was able to create a ballpoint refill that does not rely on gravity to work. This means a pen refill that can write upside down, underwater and in extreme temperatures. Because the Fisher Space Pen does not need gravity to work they even work in space and have been used on space missions since the Apollo 7 in October, 1968.

Fisher Pen needs no publicity: these ballpoint pens are superbly made, look great, and they write everywhere and in any position and for a very, very long time, if not "forever"... so you may need a refill eventually. I use a fountain pen whenever I can, but when not, Fisher tops the very short list of ballpoints to use.

I ordered the NASA Meatball pen with the clip.
So as not to have to order refill ink cartridges later on, I ordered them with the pen.
I ordered 4 or 5, sorry I cannot recall at this moment.
I did a little research and discovered that each refill can write in the neighborhood of 2.27 miles.
Thus I would say these refills along with the pen are a great investment for one's writing.

This regular pen has a purpose in our present day, yet provides a fountain pen experience when writing. One needs to take off the cap and post it or not to use.
