I bought this as a gift to my brother-in-law as he collects Lionel trains. He has not opened or used the pen, but he did say the quality is nice and he will keep it as a collectible.

I used to have an HO Gauge train layout. Still have all the train stuff, just packed in boxes. Maybe when Retro and Pen Chalet come out with a train pen it has a little extra meaning for me. That doesn't mean I am going to lower my standards. The yellow is a perfect Union Pacific yellow. The detail on the pen is fabulous. Along with seeing the detail, you can feel the detail in the pen.
If you want a pen that brings back some history, this pen is a good reminder of the railroads in the USA.
I would definitely recommend this pen to anyone.
