Waterman Perspective Reviews
A smooth writing pen that fits comfortably in my hand. Not being a fan of cartridges, I got the converter which paired quite nicely with the pen (no leaks, no wobble. The all metal construction of the pen adds just a touch more weight then I'm used to, but it still is comfortable for long periods of writing. I enjoyed using this pen so much I acquired a Waterman Carene as well.

This is a fantastic pen and very smooth. It is especially great if you pair it with a superior paper.

I own two Waterman Expert and two Hemisphere fountain pens, both of which I love. The nibs are silky smooth. I was prepared to love this pen as much as those. However, that is not the case. The first time I used it, it skipped and was scratchy. I decided to dump the cartridge and clean the nib first. After putting in a new Waterman cartridge it not only skipped , was scratchy, but if I set it aside for a few minutes, it would not write.
I decided it was the nib and ordered a new one. Normally I like the Waterman Fine nibs, but this time I ordered a Medium. OK, same problems. It is a shame to spend $140 on a pen and find it so useless., particularly after having such good experience with the Expert and Hemisphere. I guess everyone who buys fountain pens runs into that brand exception that just does not perform.
I have been tempted to purchase the Carene, but after this experience I am having second thoughts.

Waterman Perspective Video

This is the Waterman Perspective fountain pen. It comes in a hard blue case with a light blue strip on the top of the case lid, with Waterman Paris in gold on one end of that strip, and a Waterman "W" logo in white or light blue on the other.Hinge-style lid lifts open has a tan fabric interior with Waterman Paris printed on the underside of the box lid. And of course we have the Waterman Perspective fountain pen. Both the cap and the barrel of pen are both metal, glossy finish to the pen with chrome accents.
On the top of the cap, is the Waterman "W" logo on a black finial, and a thick chrome band at the top that attaches to chrome. Clip on the pen, you can see the Waterman "W" logo on the bottom of the clip, and a hole here in the center, and angular shape to that clip. You can see the sharp angles and on that, you can also see spring-loaded, slides into your pocket fairly easily.
Nice large chrome band at the center of the pen. Francis engraved on the one side and Waterman Paris on the other with this perspective lines that are shown to basically merger or go to one another.
Black glossy barrel with a chrome tip or end of the pen at the very end just a black glossy, so to match the barrel and the cap. Cap on the pen is compression-fit snaps off, post nicely on the pen, makes it pretty long, you can use a pen without a posted, whichever you would prefer on that.
The section on the pen matches that center barrel, with a Waterman France in those perspective lines and you can see how that steps down for your grip and be able to hold that. Even though it say, metallic grip and it's a glossy-chrome finished, feels like I can hold on to that fairly well with those little ridges. And then the stainless steel chrome nib to match the Waterman logo on it with those perspective lines once again and feed on the back side.
This is a cartridge fountain pen. So included with the pen underneath the false bottom of the box is a Waterman ink cartridge, one of the longer cartridges. And information about Waterman as well, is included underneath.
To change the ink on this pen since it is a cartridge-style fountain pen, you unscrew the section from the barrel of the pen and then you insert that Waterman ink or fountain pen ink cartridge into the section, and it will begin to flow. Great design, fairly inexpensive fountain pen, great value though. Get your Waterman Perspective fountain pen at PenChalet.com!
