TWSBI Vac700R Fountain Pens

About the TWSBI Vac700R
The TWSBI Vac700R fountain pen uses a vacuum filler mechanism making it as easy as simply pulling up, pushing down, and the fountain pen is inked and ready to go. TWSBI's Vac700r features a clear demonstrator body with a stainless steel nib.
The update to the Vac700 design include small changes the pen valves inside the pen: the Vac700 design used 2 small valves, but the Vac700r uses 1 large valve. The Vac700r also features a slightly larger grip section with a more drastic taper. TWSBI's updates to the design generated even better ink flow.
The resin body is paired with a screw cap and a stainless steel nib. Choose from extra fine, fine, medium, broad or 1.1 stub nibs.

TWSBI Vac700R Reviews
The great: vacuum fill mechanism works well, easy to clean, can be filled as an eyedropper instead (though vac is much cooler), good Jowo nib, valve system lets you manage air pressure issues (like plane travel). This is a great value.
The merely OK: wonky shape on the valve bulge where the cap meets the section. Mitigated by a sufficient grip surface.
I'll likely buy more. It is well worth the price. Great function for a reasonable price. I use this as a "work" pen.

These are great pens, But my last one never showed up and I have emailed Pen Chalet about this issue with no response thus far. Great pen, not great customer service.

To revisit my previous review:
I erred. I did not flush the pen before I filled it the first time. Now, having flushed it in the course of changing inks, I can say it is spot-on for the nib width. Full marks.

This thing is huge, capacity-wise. And it has an impossibly smooth glide across the page, letting it move as though on wings while I transfer my thoughts to paper.
My initial fill was with Heart of Darkness. With that ink and a medium nib, it wrote more like a broad. Still glassy smooth, but wider than it was marked. I replaced the nib with a fine, and got the line width I wanted.

This is a nice pen. I originally purchased a cheaper pen off Amazon from a different manufacturer, but it broke. I bought this to replace it and am pleased with the quality so far. It writes smooth and is cool because of the vacuum fill mechanism. The only change I would make would be to make it just a little bit longer. I have big hands and the pen can feel small at times.

I really loved the fit and finish of the Vac700R. This is only my 2nd fountain pen so take it with a grain of salt but I choose this pen because prior to covid I drive around a lot for work. This causes frequent fluctuations in elevation and I don't want to minimize the risk of getting ink all over my files or me. I chose a medium nib and it is really smooth but puts down a fairly thicker line than I had hoped. That is purely subjective however. Price and shipping were awesome and I look forward to purchasing more pens in the future from Pen Chalet.

These pens are the best. Great nibs, beautifully finished, huge ink capacity, easy to clean and they lock to keep ink from leaking while flying. They are my “modern” substitute for my Rotring 600’s. Real writers’ pens!
