Beautiful pen; stands out from my others. Smoke is still translucent which is hard to tell online (think dark Purple or Blue from the regular lineup, only deeper). I got the Fine and it writes like a champ. I expected no less which is why I like them- never have a problem and I'm a complete klutz. I'd love to see this shade with a silver or darker pewter accent, too.

This is a lovely pen in the Smoke Rose Gold - my favorite ECO, of course! I'm new to TWSBI, and this ECO is my first, actually. I watched many reviews, which are always favorable to the TWSBI ECO, and motivated me to try TWSBI. I'm definitely NOT disappointed and love writing with this pen. I plan to buy a few different nib sizes and switch out the nib from time to time just to vary my writing experience. Instant favorite! This pen is now one of my daily go-to pens. I have it permanently inked with Birmingham Pen's Gunpowder. It feels smooth, lays down ink well, and feels great in my hand. Broad nib . . . it's a great pen all around!

This is my first TWSBI fountain pen, and I absolutely love the look and feel of the ECO. The more subtle, translucent black features and the warmer rose gold trimming really do set it apart from the usual offerings of the ECO series, especially when paired with a darker ink.
This is my first pen that doesn't use a cartridge, but I found it very easy to clean and fill the ECO with ink. The mechanism is very smooth and the illustrations that come with a pen do a good job portraying how to fill the pen (there are also great videos online if you find it a little daunting).
I purchased the extra fine nib version, as I'm more used to the fine nibs on Pilot fountain pens, and I couldn't be happier with the choice and how smoothly writes.
