About the TWSBI ECO
The TWSBI ECO fountain pen comes with a clear body and various cap and knob color combinations. Both the cap and the knob are hexagon and the cap will post on the end of the barrel of the pen. The cap also has an inner cap to keep the ink fresh when not in use.
Each TWSBI ECO fountain pen comes fitted with a stainless steel nib in an array of sizes. The pen uses a piston filling system for use with bottled fountain pen ink.
NOTE: The Amazonite ECO fountain pen release revealed a new manufacturing process from Twsbi. Twsbi mixed coloring in the injection molding process to create unique patterns and colors making each pen unique. The Amazonite fountain pen was released on December, 13 2024.

What can we say? It's a solid $30 pen. We were recommended this as a good starter pen, and got it in broad. It's a solid, cheap demonstrator, and it's extremely serviceable, particularly for the price point. It simply isn't to our tastes as much as other pens. Your mileage may vary - we prefer the Pilot Metropolitan.

Hands down my favorite stub nib, at least to date. Doesn't have that 'sharp' edge some do in feel or look, which may or may not be what one wants. I do; they write smoother and make even my sloppy writing look good, win-win. I have a small herd of Ecos bc they go for miles and I love every one. They may not be the prettiest, but I try others and keep coming back so that has to say something.

I've long used a TWSBI ECO in cement color. Recently I gifted the pen, but needed a med. nib. Fortunately I was able to buy my favorite TWSBI ECO color with a med. nib, Persion Green. Love it and the med. nib which I had to give away. Guess a med. TWSBI nib is in my future. They are a surprise to me (I have a stub and a F) I gifted the TWSBI to an artist who is excited about this new adventure!!

I really like the combination of the navy and bronze. I pair it with Diamine blue/black ink, and it writes very well as all medium TWSBI pens do!

How do I fill the ECO with ink?

Can I use shimmering or permanent inks in the ECO?
You can, but clean more often. Shimmer and highly saturated or permanent inks may leave residue in the feed. Regular flushing helps maintain consistent flow and protects seals.
How do I fix hard starts or skipping?
Flush to remove manufacturing oils or old ink, try a different paper or ink, and ensure the cap is sealing. Persistent issues often resolve with a simple nib alignment or a slightly wetter ink.
I’ve heard about cap or barrel cracking—how do I avoid it?
Avoid over-tightening the cap, piston, or section; don’t drop the pen; and keep it away from extreme heat/cold. If a defect appears, contact the retailer or maker for support.
Is the ECO safe to fly with? How do I prevent ink burping?
For flights, keep the pen either full or empty and store nib-up. Pressure changes can force ink out of the feed if the reservoir is half-full. Open slowly after landing to equalize pressure.
Does the cap seal well enough for daily carry, or will the nib dry out?
The ECO’s cap has an inner seal designed to limit evaporation. Always cap firmly after use; if you experience drying, check the inner cap insert and store the pen horizontally or nib-up.
