The Stipula Splash fountain pen comes with a demonstrator barrel with your choice of solid resin cap color. Choose from slate grey, navy blue or bordeaux. The barrel of this piston style fountain pen changes color based on the ink you use.
The Stipula Splash fountain pen comes with a stainless steel flexible nib that allows you to create varied line widths by applying different pressure as you write. Each Stipula Splash fountain pen is hand crafted in Italy.

The top of the cap has that Stipula leaf logo. It's actually raised slightly off the top of that chrome cap which transitions into a chrome clip with a big ball at the end of the clip, and it has that Bordo shiny, glossy resin cap. And at the bottom of the cap, there's a small chrome band and then the barrel's clear. You can see that piston filler on the inside of the pen, and that's operated by this chrome knob at the end of the barrel.
The cap on the pen is threaded and unscrews and can be posted on the pen. I'd prefer this pen to be posted because it is a little bit shorter than without the length of the barrel without that pen posted. Then at the grip section is that Bordo color. This time it's kind of a with matte finish, not the glossy finish of the cap, and then it has a flex nib on it that allows you to create varied line widths by the amount of pressure that you put on the pen as you write. And then I'll show you that piston fill. Simply twist that knob at the end to actuate the piston to fill the pen with ink.

This is the Stipula Splash Fountain Pen. It comes in a red cardboard box. We have the Stipula logo printed in gold on the top of the box lid which lifts open, and once again on the underside of the box lid, that Stipula logo printed in gold again. And the pen sits on a white soft bed, and this is the Bordo version of the Stipula Splash Fountain Pen. Very disappointed. I’d rate this pen on par with the Walmart calligraphy pen set. It has issues with ink flow when flexed. It takes quite an effect to get line Variation. It’s scratchy on high quality and even worse on cheap paper. The pen itself is ok, but the nib is the worst I’ve ever seen. I would not recommend this pen for a beginner or expect. The pen to me is made very cheaply. Don’t waist your money.

This little Dude is AWESOME for the price I picked it up for. All my other Stipula pens are the Tocco Ferro and are QUITE heavy in comparison and it is shorter, (I feel????) but that hasn't diminished its usability for me and my biggish hands.
The Piston filling mechanism is Smooth and easy to use and made filling the pen a breeze. The amount of ink has so far been just fine...I haven't run out yet, and this little Guy came equipped with a Medium Nib that flows like Silk in the Wind.....Woo Woo Woo!!! And back to its size, the make up of the body (resin) also makes it fit comfortably in my fingers without slipping out. This is an Amazing Pen for the price.

Very disappointed in this pen. I got it for my daughter's significant other for Christmas as he really wanted a good starter pen and I wanted one that didn't rely on cartridges. He was literally just about to fill it with ink and the shaft on the piston snapped. It really just ruined his Christmas as this was a gift he really wanted.
I am sure Pen Chalet will fix this. However note this piston fill is not on the quality level of something like a Pilot 823. The mechanism is plastic and seems to be very fragile.

The pen write pretty smoothly. Although it is a steel "flex" nib pen, its flexing ability is limited. The biggest problem is the price. A pen with a steel nib and resin body that sales at $70 is way too overpriced.
