This is the Pelikan 200 series fountain pen. The box slides off to reveal the pen. Inside the pen is in a nice soft leather pouch. This particular pen is the classic black. It also comes in the green version. It is made of a high quality resin and the etchings or the ring and the clip and the accents are all made from a gold plated metal. On the ring is etched into it Pelikan Germany and on the top cap we've got the Pelikan logo, and of course we've got the classic Pelikan beak clip.The cap unsrews. I am somewhat new to fountain pens if you don't count my experience with them in 3rd thru 8th grades. After running the gamut of China made pens, I decided to try this German made pen. Let me say, I love it. Along with a Kaweco Sport that I purchased from Pen Chalet, this is my go to pen. This pen wrote beautifully right out of the box. With the China makes, I would always wash the nib first and let dry overnight. I was very eager to use this pen so I decided to forgo my usual routine. I filled it with Diamine Blue Sapphire (also from PC) and it wrote smooth as butter first time. I love this pen. I will purchase more. Than you, Pen Chalet.
