The Nahvalur (previously Narwhal) Nautilus Grand Rhapsody fountain pen is a semi-exclusive release in Nahvalur's popular Nautilus Collection. The oversized piston filler fountain pens are made of gorgeous European Ebonite with the Grand Rhapsody showcasing a dreamy blue material streaked with shades of pink and mauve. The Nahvalur (previously Narwhal) Nautilus Grand Rhapsody pen design features Nahvalur's proprietary ink window; the three intricate ink windows are carved on the barrel, reminiscent of the traditional portholes on a ship.
Each Nahvalur (previously Narwhal) Nautilus Grand Rhapsody fountain pen is fitted with a #6 stainless steel nib. Nahvalur nib fans declare them to be particularly smooth and consistent immediately upon putting the pen to paper. The Nahvalur (previously Narwhal) Nautilus Grand Rhapsody fountain pen is available in varying nib sizes.*

THIS was a bonus find for me! I had been intrigued by the Nautilus design and Narwhal pens have been solid reliable writers in the past (and tolerant of leaving them inked / un-used for longer than ideal amounts of time). I was searching for something that might “inspire” and saw this special edition on offer. By far this is now my #1 pen to use! The ebonite just feels “a bit different”, in a good way. It’s a larger pen, especially good when my hand may not be cooperating as I’d like. The broad nib creates a smaller than typical broad line but is an absolute joy to write and create art with! On more textured paper, it’s still a smooth and enjoyable experience. Note: the pen I received was more salmon in coloring than the photo, still unique and beautiful.
