I love this pen. It is visually striking and offers a great writing experience. I would have prefered a darker, more vibrant color of ink.

Let me start by saying, this is my first Leonardo fountain pen and I couldn’t be happier with it. So much in fact, that I’ve purchased (3) more very special Leonardo’s since. The Jonathan Brooks resin is absolutely stunning and the fit, finish and function of this pen is top tier. Packaging & presentation of this set is also MUCH more than one would expect for a fountain pen in this price range. The only negative for me on this purchase (and it’s not a deal killer) is the ink that comes packaged with the pen. The ink doesn’t flow quite as smoothly as I would have hoped due to the excessive amount of shimmer it contains. I addition, although the ink is a very attractive color when it’s still wet, it dries to a highly reflective gold which to me doesn’t seem to follow the Bengal Tiger theme very well. If you like a very sparkly gold ink, you’ll love it but I’m not a fan of the ink. That being said, I bought this set for the Leonardo pen and I have no regrets. I’ll eventually be filling it with another type of ink as this pen will stay in my collection long term.

This Leonardo Bengal Tiger set is beautiful, feels great in the hand and writes smoothly and consistently. The Van Dieman's Bengal Tiger Blaze is a gorgeous ink. Pen Chalet is one of favorite fountain pen retailers. They have great deals and awesome customer service! Fast shipping, too!
