About the Gioia Alleria
The Gioia Alleria fountain pen is inspired by the relationship between sky, sea and earth. Aptly named, Alleria means "happiness" in Neapolitan, the fountain pen presents the highest quality Italian craftsmanship and premium raw materials for a beautiful writing experience.
The Gioia Alleria fountain pen's barrel and cap are handmade from the finest resins. The light and easy to handle pen also features a pen clip made using lost wax casting (an ancient goldsmith's process). Together, the cap and barrel feature five trim rings for an overall classic and stately style. The pen's modern silhouette accentuates the attractive color combinations and highlights the Italian heritage evident in the meticulous and classy pen design.
Each Gioia Alleria fountain pen uses an integrated piston filling system and is fitted with an iridium-tipped #6 JoWo steel nib (available in varying nib sizes).
For Gioia Alleria fountain pens, the Stub nib refers to 1.1mm nib.

I was iffy about this pen because it the steel nib, and I am not familiar with the company. I write a lot everyday and I often have to refill pens, but I’m a therapist and I write in sessions so I can’t get up and refill pens. I have a number of pens as back up and thought I’d use this in a pinch. However, it’s a good pen. It’s oversized and light. I use it unposted. The nib is a little stiff, but it is medium so is wet and moves smoothly. It is very reliable, which is imperative. I can’t fuss with my pen in sessions. They have to always work easily, and this one does. I’m glad I got it.

The Gioia Pen Italia Alleria is a fine pen, but somewhat unremarkable. The pen functions well, and almost certainly passed a thorough QC check before leaving the factory. The large #6 nib is finely tuned to write well right out of the box. But the style of the pen is a little basic. The body feels lighter than other premium resin-bodied pens, and the moving parts feel like they are lacking in a little bit of finish. At this price point, I was hoping for more.

I had never seen this brand before and purchased it on a whim, It is a large pen seems to be well made. It has some interesting design features, it writes well. Its a piston filler and it holds a lot of ink.
