The Esterbrook Limited Edition Estie Candy Oversize fountain pen is a big dose of utterly delicious for the pen collector or writing enthusiast! The popular and nostalgic pen design is made from a hand-blended Diamondcast blank made by McKenzie Penworks.
What is Diamondcast Material?
The Diamondcast material used in the Limited Edition Estie Candy oversize fountain pen is a scientific treasure 200 years in the making. The blue seen in the gorgeous material is no ordinary blue - it is YInMn Blue, a 2009 discovery that made history for being the first natural blue discovered in more than two hundred years. Gloriously vibrant, from the earth and non-toxic, it's a true blue that everyone loves, but the demand far exceeds the availability.
In addition to featuring the beautiful and rare YInMn Blue, the Esterbrook Limited Edition Candy Estie oversize fountain pen's Diamondcast material also glows under black light (the neon pink is truly neon)!
This limited-edition release features the popular proprietary cushion cap closure Esterbrook's Estie has become known for and is trimmed in gold.
The Estie design is clean and understated with a ringless center and a sleek narrow clip. The Estie uses a cartridge converter filling system compatible with either a standard international ink cartridge or converter and comes fitted with a modern #6 German JOWO stainless steel nib.
The Esterbrook Estie fountain pen is the first collection to accept the MV nib adapter which allows a vintage Esterbrook nib to be used on the pen as well. Note: MV adapter must be purchased separately.
All About the Scribe Nib:
Esterbrook's new Scribe nib is created in New York by a nibmaker by the name of Josh Lax. The Scribe fountain pen nib is similar to an architect nib; ground into a wedge for broad cross-strokes paired with narrow downstrokes.
Note: Specialty nibs such as the Journaling or Scribe are custom grinds and take longer on special orders for delivery.
