Sage Consul Elan Fountain Pens

The Consul Elan Fountain Pen brings a more expressive, energetic interpretation to the Consul design language while preserving the brand’s focus on proportion, material, and thoughtful construction.

Its name comes from the French word élan—a sense of energy, spirit, confidence, and distinctive flair. In English, the word has also come to suggest effortless style and elegance, making it a fitting name for a collection designed to feel both contemporary and timeless.

Elan’s silhouette is refined but full of character. A signature faceted surface runs through the design, beginning with the Consul emblem set into the cap finial and continuing through carefully considered decorative details. Beneath the clip, an engraved Consul signature adds another distinctive element, while a matching emblem on the barrel finial completes the composition. Mirror-polished gold-tone metal components provide a warm contrast against the expressive resin.

Choose from three available designs:
- Sage – layered green, olive, and warm earthy tones with a softly organic appearance
- Claret – rich purple and violet tones for a bold, saturated look
- Boreal – a dynamic mix of cool blue, green, violet, and iridescent color
The decorative acrylic resins used for Consul pens are developed in house in Yerevan, Armenia using the brand’s own formulations and production techniques. Because of the nature of these materials, the exact distribution of color, pattern, and reflective elements varies naturally from one pen to another, giving each Elan its own individual appearance.

Consul writing instruments combine precision manufacturing with manual production and finishing processes. Materials are developed and produced in house, while finishing, decorative work, inspection, and assembly involve hands-on processes that contribute to the individually crafted character of each pen.

The Elan uses a screw-cap design and can be posted for writing. Each fountain pen is fitted with a stainless steel JoWo nib customized with Consul branding, with nib options including Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, Double Broad, Elastic Fine, 1.1 Stub, and 1.5 Stub.

For filling flexibility, Elan uses the international standard cartridge/converter system. Each pen includes a Schmidt K6 converter with a secure screw-on attachment and a Diamine Oxford Blue ink cartridge, allowing it to be filled from bottled fountain pen ink or used with compatible international standard cartridges.

Measuring approximately 14 cm closed and weighing about 26.2 g with the cap, the Consul Elan balances elegant proportions with enough presence to feel substantial without becoming cumbersome.

Designed and produced in Yerevan, Armenia, the Consul Elan Fountain Pen is a confident expression of the brand’s identity—refined in proportion, distinctive in detail, and alive with color and movement.
