This is the orange and blue version of the pen. It has a spiral pattern that runs the length of the pen. You can see that spiral pattern as I twist the pen. It also has an inner pattern that's blown on the inside, a white and blue pattern that twists and turns, as well.
It has kind of a thinner end with a thicker section at the grip, makes it nice and comfortable to hold, and then it has a little lip here at the front before the actual glass dip nib tip, which is twisted. You can see the twist on it with little grooves. Those grooves are what holds the ink and keeps the ink on the pen when you dip it. It allows it to flow down to the tip of the point.
Great design, each hand-blown, handmade. There's two colors available. They're a great-looking pen. Get your Rohrer and Klingner glass dip pen at PenChalet.com!

Rohrer & Klingner Glass Reviews
Much better in design (and presentation) than the Herbin-branded dip pen. The nib is longer, more polished at the tip. The grip seems less cramped.

This is the first time I've ordered from Pen Chalet. Great customer service before the sale. I had some questions and concerns and they answered them all promptly. Ordered this glass pen and am very pleased. Received it promptly and the Pen was very nice. Very good experience overall. Will buy other items from this company anytime.

Aesthetically this is a gorgeous dip pen! Unfortunately it does not write that smoothly. The tip is somewhat blunted and ragged. When turned at certain angles there is an improvement but overall I'm a little underwhelmed with the quality.

As others have said, these are the perfect instruments for testing ink, as they are so easy to clean. Obviously, they are beautiful, and the amount of ink they hold is surprising - much larger capacity than metal nibs. Very comfortable writing, and you can control the width a little by tilting the pen.

Writing with this thing is pretty scratchy. I'm surprised that you have to dip it very sparingly - I find that the ink runs down the flutes and accumulates at the bottom, which causes blobbing onto the paper when writing. It's very pretty, but I hardly ever use it.

This is a beautiful pen that seems very well built; however, I don't like the way the pen writes at all. Very scatchy and feels as though the finish is very rough on the tip. I purchased an $8 dip pen on Amazon that I like WAY better. I was hoping this "nicer" one would be better with higher quality, but I was very disappointed.

Lovely glass dip pen. Sturdier than you'd think, too - I've clanged it against a glass a little harder than I should have a couple of times, and it's holding up fine. The dip pen itself is so pretty and makes ink testing a breeze.

My first experience with a glass dip pen and extremely pleased. Ordered both colors. Very smooth writing, held the ink very well and was able to write like a pro. Wish these came in more colors, would buy them all. Based my purchase off of numerous reviews of this particular brand. Shipping was fast and will come back soon.

This review is for Rohrer-Kolninger glass dip pen: What a beautifully crafted glass pen with rather a simple shape! It feels somewhat heavier than other brand glass dip pens. It feels good to hold in my hand. One thing I noticed is that this pen seems to hold the ink much longer period of time than other brand pens. When I thought I wiped off the ink from the flutes of the writing tip with a paper towel, I was still able to write few more words without re-dipping. That means that the flutes are better engineered to hold the ink more efficiently. So it is advisable that we wash the writing tip under the running faucet water before dipping into a different color ink to avoid the color mixing of the ink.
