This Ageless pen is the black version. It also comes in other colors, yellow, blue, pink, white and several different colors. All of them have the chrome accents. The chrome ring and the chrome clip and the top section of the pen is chrome as well. On the side of the pen is the Ageless logo printed on it and Pilot Japan on the backside in small print.
The Ageless Pen also comes in the Ageless Future version. The main difference is this section of the pen on the Present version is translucent or clear where you can see through it. It is kind of a smoky color but in here you can see the workings of the pen, the spring and other portions of it.
This pen is really unique. To extend the refill it is a two step process. First you twist to extend this section of the pen then you click again to extend the refill of the pen for writing. You can then twist the pen to retract both of those. If you continue to twist in the opposite direction you can then remove the refill if you need to replace that. You can put that back in and twist that back on. It is kind of unique because it protects the pen.

You can remove the top of the tube and the pen is inside. If you would like you can use it to display the pen when you are not using it. I haven’t gotten the hang of easily getting the nib out since it requires twisting it the proper way so sometimes it takes two turns to get the nib out, but otherwise it looks nice in color and style and writes smoothly good ink flow. You turn the barrel one way to retract the silver out of the black barrel and you turn it the other way to get the nib out. Should keep it simpler. I always like Pilot but this one is too smart for me as in a “smart pen”. But overall it is fine.

I recently got this item because it was such a good deal, compared to other sites I searched (including Amazon). I really like how this pen looks and feels. Although the ballpoint itself worked great, I did replace it with a Pilot Acro Ballpoint in Extra Fine, as I prefer a black fine point. I like the quirkiness of the look and operation of this pen--it's quite a conversation piece.

I just re'd from you thru Amazon an Ageless Present pen. The pen came with a blue medium point refill. I am checking to see if I can get black fine point or extra fine point for this pen this pen. A:
I just depends on the pen you have and whether it is a gel ink refill or the standard ballpoint refill. The standard ballpoint ink refill for the pen is the Pilot RF-15 Ballpoint Pen Refill. The gel ink version of the Pilot Ageless pen uses the refill Pilot BLGS-7 Gel Pen Refill.
