Leipziger Schwarz Rohrer & Klingner Bottled(50ml) Fountain Pen Ink

A must have green: gorgeous, unique, reliable, high quality.

I ordered the R&K Fernambuk color based on the digital color swatches because I was looking for a solid pink ink to use while waiting for my Iroshizuku Kosumusu to arrive from a friend in Japan. Much to my surprise, this R&K Fernambuk appears as a very pretty red with a bent towards the orange side! It's lovely and cheerful, so I'm not disappointed at all. It's my first experience with R&K inks, so I'll consider it an adventure when I order my next R&K color. The quality of ink is enjoyable to write with and dries rather quickly on paper. I've written with it on everyday 24 lb. copy paper with a fine point, steel nibbed economy fountain pen with strong ghosting and some bleedthrough when concentrated in one spot - the ultimate unfair test for any ink. I have yet to test it in one of my better pens, e.g. Pilot Vanishing Point with 14K nib, on fountain pen-friendly paper, e.g. Rhodia or the like. Bottom line, I like the color, which is not pink (unless I'm suddenly color blind), and R&K ink seems to have a good reputation among fountain pen enthusiasts. It’s OK, not the deep blue-black ink with which Grandma used to write her shopping list for the A & P. Like most current inks, it seems a tad watery, not like the India Inks they used to sell back in the day. That said, this ink does serve its purpose welll in the modern day; doesn’t seem to bleed badly and dries reasonably quickly.

Helianthus. What a lovely color! It's a bright/dark enough yellow to be used, in my opinion, but it may be too light for some, I'm which case I suspect it would make a nice highlighter fluid. This is my first R&K ink.

I had been looking forward to trying this ink, after watching some online reviews, and I haven't been disappointed. "Old Golden Green" is a good description. I think it leans a bit more toward green, but it definitely has that extra golden punch that makes it truly unique. I enjoy trying inks that seem to be in a category by themselves, and I think Alt-Goldgrun is definitely one of those.

R and K inks are understated and don't get the attention they deserve. Verdigris is a saturated color that is velvety. Fermanbuk is a very bright color that appears red with some nib/paper combos or a bright pink. Beautiful ink!

This is the second time that I've gotten inks from them and they each change colors which I really like they're not dry but they're not wet they're right in between more to the dry side

Can't say enough good things about the Alt Goldgrun - truly the standout in the RK offerings, and the gold standard when t comes to olive green inks

This is an ink color that though has been years around, its always welcome and re-stocked in my shelve. Shades like angels! Lovely greens, wet, nice flow, for all nibs and pens. A must have. The bottle hold a huge ml and perfect design to ink pens. Fast, secure, well packed delivery even during pandemic 2019-2020 only from Pen Chalet!

Scabiosa is a good iron gall ink in a pleasant color.
