I don't know how I disassembled pens before I got this! I actually only bought it so I'd have a "complete" pen maintenance kit, never thinking I'd use it, but honestly I bring it out EVERY time I need to pull a pen apart. It allows me to grip nibs and feeds without causing damage (and also prevents skin oil from mucking up a nib), and it provides excellent friction for unscrewing those particularly stubborn parts.

A little stiff of a rubber piece, this does have pretty good grip, and helped me pull out a stubborn friction fit nib. Does the job.
