The Ink Miser Ink Shot inkwell is awesome. Yes, it is cheap and simple, but the wide opening and deep V shape fits my fattest, largest pens with ease and provides enough depth for them all to fill completely. I chose the clear version so I can more easily see how far my nib is immersed in the ink and how much ink there is as I fill. I haven't had any staining yet, but it won't bother me if I do. The only con to this thing is how light it is. Yes, it has a wide base, but it is still relatively easy to knock over if you aren't careful. For the price, I'm not complaining. I might glue it to a wider piece of wood or something to make it harder to tip over.

Really pleased with this gadget. Had an ink sample that I wanted to use and just couldn't get the feed of my pen into the ink. Using the Ink Shot, no problem!

I bought this on a whim because it wasn’t very expensive and I thought it would be fun to try. I now use it constantly! Often, when I have a sample vial or am reaching the bottom of a bottle, the Ink-shot is a great way to fill a pen because the shape allows for the pen to sink in all the way and suck up all the ink. A great and inexpensive way to stretch your ink and fill pens easily.

this is the way! I've tried a couple other styles of ink wells/ink savers and this is the one that works, functionally. Still, hard to believe such a simple piece of plastic should cost so much, but so far I have not found a cheaper alternative.

Get the clear one! I say this because it will be easier to determine if all of the ink from last use has been removed. Mine has a tiny pocket in the bottom of the vessel that will not simply rinse clean. I have to use a Q-tip to force water into it to get the last remnant of ink out.
