I have been challenged in the past in not being able to fill a fountain pen from an almost empty ink bottle. This item allows me to use the pipette to extract ink from the bottle and fill the pen from the ink-well. I purchased the clear device as I look forward to using it to mix ink.

This works very well when I have the sample inks to ink the pen and the converter does not fit very well with my fingers in the way so I use the needle and place some ink in the ink shot and then fill the converter.

Oh, goodness, I love this thing for the tiny mini-bottles of Colorverse ink, samples, and for use with my huge bottle of Heart of Darkness ink. It's a simple plastic item but it's so very helpful. I ordered the clear one which makes it easy to see the ink level; the black one would be harder to use imo.

I use this ink well a lot for cleaning my pens with Pen Chalet pen flush and for draining the last drops of ink from my bottles. I just emptied out a 2 oz bottle of Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black thanks to this handy little tool.

I bought this in clear so I could see how much ink was in the inkwell. A friend of mine gave me samples of her inks to try. I poured the ink into this ink-shot and was able to load the ink into my pen effortlessly. It's sturdy and sits well on a flat table. As an added precaution, I have placed this ink-shot into my clean Oui glass yogurt jar. Now I don't have to worry about accidentally tipping it over. I highly recommend this and also the clear version.
