Platinum Prefounte Fountain Pens Reviews

I bought one of these in a local bookshop. It was my first fountain pen purchase and I was instantly hooked. I love the way these pens write. And it is an affordable option for those who aren’t ready to spend $$ on the high end pens. I really wanted to get more of these pens so that I could have a few different color inks, but with the lockdown, I couldn’t get to the bookstore. I found Pen Challet and was so happy to see they are $5 less here than the store. I’ve ordered 5 now and an assortment of ink colors. Very very happy with this product and the quick shipment!

This is my first time purchasing a Prefounte pen and using it for grad school. It is absolutely great very stylish pen, very similar to the platinum preppy. Only difference is the style and structure but same concept. Really happy with my purchase.

I order the Platinum Prefounte in Dark Emerald with a Fine Point Nib. At the same time I order the Platinum Converter-500. Originally I ordered this pen for the "The cap contains a "Slip & Seal" mechanism to prevent ink from drying out in the pen with the cap on for a year." I don't know if the "Slip & Seal" works for a full year, my pen has not sat that long. So far every time I have uncapped the pen, it has no problem writing. Nicest surprise was how smoothly the pen writes, especially for an inexpensive pen. One of these times I need to order this pen with an Extra Fine Point Nib.

The Medium writes a bit thicker than I expected from a Japanese pen - it's quite similar to my Pilot Varsity pens. Next time, I will try Fine. But for a $10 pen, this red Prefounte looks good. It caps solidly. And it writes very well. Even with the addition of a converter, making the pen around $17, I have no complaints about the value.

THIS IS A REALLY COOL PEN. If you are afraid to spend a lot of money, but you want a good pen, try one of these!
you can use a cartridge or fill it with an eyedropper. You can put a LOT of ink into this pen and the cap keeps the ink from drying out. They say it lasts a year, but i haven't had it that long, but so far so good.
It's also a much prettier color than the picture

I have become quite a fan of Platinum pens. Their "slip and seal" technology makes their pens write immediately after sitting for lengths of time. Most of the pens in my collection require some "priming" to use them again after a short length of time. I have Platinum pens from the new Prefounte to the Century and they all write really well. Even after sitting for a month or more. And they all are a joy to write with.
