This is my second Platinum fountain pen. The first was a Procyon that I got on a whim. It was on special and included a converter. The nib was so fabulous it eventually displaced all my other fountain pens. It also enabled me to discover that I prefer writing with a really, really fine line. I had already noticed that the 3776 Century was advertised with an ultra extra fine nib, but the price was just out of reach. The I got a 15% birthday discount. Then it came on special. Now I have what I guess must be my grail pen. It writes the thinnest line of anything I have ever used and does so effortlessly.

I have been wanting to add the Platinum 3776 Century in Chartres Blue for quite awhile. Thanks to the PenChalet prices that desire was made into a reality. This is a solid pen at such a great price-point for a 14k gold nib. I like a Western medium or broad nib. After researching the Platinum nibs and watching many YouTube videos, I choose a broad nib. It's between a Western medium and a Western broad. I'm so glad I did. It's fantastic! I love the firmness of the nib as I'm not into a soft-bouncy writing experience because my writing style isn't conducive to soft-bouncy. This is an amazing writer. It is super smooth and offers feedback, which I like. It lays down a nice line of ink. Aesthetically, this pen is a 10 out of 10. It is gorgeous if you're into deep blue and gold accents, which I am. It feels really good posted or unposted. I have been reaching for this pen ever since I received it and inked it up. I'm very glad to add it to my collection.

Great for my note taking needs. Bought the Medium Nib. Decided to buy another Platinum because I was so pleased with the ink flow and control of this nib. Nib might be a bit stiff and a bit too much feedback for some tastes, but it is exactly what I needed for my note taking and the variety of paper I use, though typically use Ampad Gold Fiber Pads, which are probably not meant for fountain pens. Using Platinum Blue/Black cartridges.

The fine nib Platinum 3776 Century is by far my favorite pen. Most impressive is the even ink flow. Unlike the ink flow with Pilot gold nibs that can vary considerably based on pen stroke direction, the Platinum gold nibs lay down a crisp even line regardless of direction. If you prefer ink pooling in the bottom of your letters to demonstrate ink shading qualities, the Platinum gold nibs may not be the best choice. If, like me, you appreciate precise crisp even lines, the Platinum 3776 Century is perfect. The next most impressive quality of the 3776 Century is the nib feedback. The feedback through the fine nib is incredibly smooth, but somewhat pencil-like in that you can feel the fibers in your paper. For me, the added feedback provides better control. An apt analogy is a sports car or motorcycle with a stiff but pliant suspension for better control and handling at speed and in corners. Although my favorite pen, there is room for improvement. In my opinion, I would prefer if the pen had a bit more heft. Also, rather annoying for pen of such high quality is that when you tap the barrel the converter rattles against the inside of the barrel. To end with one more positive quality, I can flush the 3776 Century faster than any other pen. The excellent converter can be flushed out with just a couple of squirts from an ink syringe with no annoying trapped ink. As for the feed and nib, a bulb syringe fits perfectly over the feed intake tube, creating a tight seal that allows you to force water through the feed and nib with no spray back. I

This is my first gold nib (soft tip) and I love how it writes. It is smooth but just a hit of feedback which I like. The soft tip has just a hint of flex for some line variation and it has worked great with every ink I've used. It is the one pen I always keep inked it. With the Platinum's special caps, the nib is always wet. And it looks great.

Ultra extra fine! This pen writes beautifully, no hard starts, nice and steady lines, definitely no skipping. I can write with a super teeny tiny font and it is very legible. In person the chartres blue color is really pretty. This pen is Very well constructed pen, and perfectly finished. I am happy with my purchase!

This is my first Platinum pen and I'm very happy with the purchase. The fit and finish are top notch. The pen writes well with a slight amount of feedback which was expected - it's a good writing experience. I purchased the M nib which is consistent with other Japanese nibs being about a step or so finer than western nibs. I prefer to post my pens and this pen appears to be designed for posting with nice weight in the cap which gives it a really good balance when posted. The only thing I would like to see is for the converter to be included - Pen Chalet makes clear it's not, but somehow I still missed it. On the whole, it's a really nice pen and is already high in the rotation!
